New He-man Movie!!

Well obviously not all the characters can make it to the movie, because otherwise it would be either overkill or the movie would ahve to be 4 hours long, but I think for the bad guys you need skeletor of course, and beastman, merman, maybe evil lynn, and one of those snake guys would be cool, beastman could be made with a big actor stuntman in heavy prosthetic make-up, evil lynn a very good actress that can be really evil, merman could be real eye candy he could be done ussing a mix of prostethics creature suit and cgi, if weta does the fx then merman could be completely cgi and he would look completely realistic.

As for Orko I don't know we need a very good voice actor.

Kane Hodder for Beast Man!
kane_hodder4.jpg

Height: 6'3 1/2" (1.92 meters)
Weight: Unknown but judging by his girth most likely over 200 lbs.

Or Ken Kirzinger.
1429_a_normal.jpg

Height: 6'5"
Weight: Don't know, but like Kane he's probably over 200 pounds.

Maybe they should use that Daniel Cudmore fellow who played Colossus in X2 as He-Man... dude's 6'8" and really bulked up, just stick a blonde wig on him.

Any ideas for who'd make a good Stratos?

Yea Kane Hooder could be beastman, as for stratos I don't know ,if he was in the movie he's physical appereance would have to change a bit, but I have no idea of who could play him, Daniel cudmore has the physique but he's way too tall and he doesn't have the face he doesn't look like he-man too much. there are a lot of actors that could play he-man even unknowns, which is who I think a director should cast as he-man an unknown.

Dolph Lundgren stood 6'6". Just because Cudmore has two more inches we shouldn't hold that against him.

Well you have a point there, but does he look like he-man? that's the question, I just don't know as for the acting I haven't seen him in a movie other than X2 and he didn't talk too much, but everything is possible who knows.

Hodder and the other guy both would make a decent Fisto. 6'3" and 6'5" tall is indeed tall...but Beast Man should be well...huge. and I'm sorry but WWE Wrestler Big Show fits the bill. He looks like him...even w/o the make up. As far as Cuddmore as He-Man. I dunno. He has a physical presence about him. But methinks one should wait for his star to rise before anything happens. He hasn't even spoken yet. And BTW...I still think they should do separate Adam/He-Man to differenciate the characters. But thats just me. LOL. (Look below for more casting suggestions as far as Beast Man)

You are really contradicting yourself there, MOTU. Wait for Cuddmore to be in other films, but you want to cast Big Show right out of wrestling with no acting experience on the big screen at all? Shame, shame, I thought you had more judgement than that

Show is just a thought. But the character Beast Man is like to be preformed by a great actor anyway. Alright alright. One of my other choices is Tyler Mane. Who had played the beastly Sabertooth in X-Men 1. And...maybe...Michael Clarke Duncan? I think Show has the look and size. But if you look at pro wrestling...it is acting. Bad acting yes...over the top...yes. But they do have scripts and they do ad lib on most occasions. Most pro wrestlers have untapped potential. But in all reality...He-Man and it's main villians, although they must be believable...are only believable to an extent. They are "Superhuman". There must be a sense of like Camp...or overacting. Especially on the villians parts. This genre...has to have those elements. In order to keep the mood not too dark or lite...just even it up a bit. Plus, if Vince McMahon gets a hold of the script (He does have "WWE Films" now..which LionsGate is co-producing Glenn "Kane" Jacobs horror flick "See No Evil") who knows? lol. I'm just saying just for the sake of saying. "Devils Advocate" sort of thing.

cant be bothered reading the entire thread but I am pleased so far with the casting. good pick for Skeletor!!

Awesome...mwa ha ha. As long as there is some sort of life this thread will have life also.

As Leslie Neilsen as Lt. Frank Drebbin said in the 2nd Naked Gun film...Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear..."I LOVE IT!"

How about Doug Jones, who played Abe Sapien in 2004's Hellboy?

Well yea he did a great job in hellboy, the suit look pretty good also, although for merman we need the suit make-up to be even more impressive than whta we saw in hellboy

In an era where CGI is rapidly ruining any and all chances for good prosthetic make up, Abe Sapien's in Hellboy was the best that anyone could ask for.

The biggest difference is that Mer-Man would probably need to be a lot stockier than Abe Sapien.

Oh God  "rapidly ruining ANY and ALL chances", puh-LEASE.
Ridiculous thing to say. There has been a ton of the best prosthetic make up ever in the past few years. Just more knee-jerk CGI trash-talking :down.

tons of it in the Star Wars prequels, tons in the Lord of the Rings, tons in Narnia, Hell Boy, Harry Potter, all the horror movies with mutanty guys, King Kong, all the latest Zombie movies, The Thing in the Fantastic Four movie (sadly), etc..

As far as characters they'd almost always rather do make up since it's so much less expensive than good CGI. The CGI is for when the physicality of the character can't be performed by a human (Yoda fighting, 30 foot tall ape, giant dragon, zombie with a hole in it's head, etc.)

Well yes abe sapien looked good Iam not taking his credit away, Iam saying that for merman some heavy cgi could be needed, I said could not for sure, it depends on the overall design of the creature, and specialy the mouth area, but maybe they can mix prosthetics with cgi, and even animatronics for some shots
