I agree with the rest of you that it was a blah NJF's. No pics, and basically talking about stuff we don't really get much hints at. I rolled my eyes at there being an event for 2008-2009 already. Lord, I am getting event-fatique. They don't even need them for sales anymore. DC seems to be doing nothing right and no matter what Marvel sells or doesn't sell in a month, they beat out DC. It's like beating nothing. It's like when you play a video game so often that you can beat all the bosses on instinct. That's Marvel vs. DC now. So take it easy on the events. Let us and the retailers breathe.
That said, Slott is always cool to listen too, and considering that little good usually comes from their "counsel of elders" summets, at least him being there can limit some of the puke they put out. Nice to know that Loeb is the one person left in the Marvel Bullpen who, for the moment, doesn't have his head shoved entirely up Bendis' rectum. Yet. I mean when Bendis' BOSS pretty much sucks up to him, you knows the inmates are running the asylum.
Plus, with all respect to Loeb, his Marvel work hasn't exactly been a home run so far.
I did like this especially:
Thank you GOD. I would so love to see some actual supervillians being fleshed out, made workable, and doing their nasty stuff and having heroes rise to the challenge, instead of doing nothing but infighting and making mistakes again, and again, and again en masse.
The question is whether or not Slott has enough pull on the counsel yet.

NRAMA: What corner of the Marvel Universe do you expect or would like to see get some love in the next year or so?
Slott: The supervillains. With Civil War we've seen a lot of super heroes smacking each other around. Now I really want to see some classic Marvel bad guys take center stage.
