I won't deny that I see the resemblance, but I think it's far more likely that it's a coincidence. I mean, Krang had a small but very important role in the BD script, but it depended entirely on the alien turtles origin. In fact, almost the entire third act of the film pretty much hinged on the alien thing. I could see Utrom Shredder making an appearance (because we already know Sachs is Shredder, so what else is this teased reveal supposed to be?) but Krang himself is likely out. Besides, his role was one of the dumbest things in the script. It was rushed and weird and played out like a final boss in a 90's console game, even if design-wise he was probably one of the more faithful characters.

I'd really like to see Krang in live action, just not via Shredder being Krang and Krang being Shredder or what have you

Krang is my second favorite TMNT character (Casey being my favorite) but with the BD script being my only way of knowing how they planned to handle the characters, I'm kind of glad Casey and Krang were likely cut. Krang was kind of a badass, being that unlike the cartoon where he was a whiny ruler removed from his home dimension, he was actually the evil dictator of Dimension X. The problem was he wasn't introduced onscreen or an active participant in the plot. He was described via dialog and only actually seen in the final battle. Casey, on the other hand, was heavily in the film but bore practically no resemblance to any previous Casey. No mask, no vigilante behavior, just a security guard who happened to play hockey and was named Casey Jones. I think both of those reimaginings would have just frustrated me if they had made it into the film.

Utrom Shredder, on the other hand, I don't mind. I prefer old-fashioned human Shredder, but if we're going to have a big reveal like they're teasing, it's a hell of a lot better than him being a Terminator-style robot wearing human skin, like the original script. I'm willing to give Utrom Shredder a shot.

Except he's nowhere near as beefy, has no nose, just nostrils, and isn't wearing a loincloth and sunglasses.

If he looked like this in the film I would be 100% pleased with his design.

I thougnt if we complained about something we shouldn't have seen to begin with and then went on to draw our own designs of how we thought it should have been dine then surely things would change...right?? I mean isn't that why they haven't shown us anything official?? They leaked those photos on purpose to test our reaction to them and since everyone clearly hates it they are redoing all the designs, right???

I am excited in general for this movie, this will be the first live-action turtles film I see in the theaters. I was pretty much an infant when the original 3 came out.

Looks like Mikey's art is the same as the poster we saw a while back, but the other 3 are different. Not much else I can make out that we don't know, except that these are some massive sets.
