Like Jakomus said, Marvel's recent track record ain't that squeaky-clean, either. Spidey seems to be the only film franchise they've got that has legs, no pun intended.

Of the movies you've mentioned the only ones that won't suck will be SM3 and possibly Iron Man.

DC still has some other great characters that could be movie worthy also, the Flash for instance is still in the works.

i think the Flash has potential to be really different. I'm expecting a november/december release and I'm expecting Goyer to really be out there (if it ever happens.)

I agree. DC's track record other than Batman Begins has been lackluster unless you take into account the old Superman and Batman movies. While there are some bad Marvel movies too, Marvel has put out more movies than DC. Both Spider-Man movies were more than held their own against Superman Returns and Batman Begins. But I think DC will go ahead with more movies just because Marvel has already proved that their is a big comic book movie audience. Flash and Green Lantern could help turn some more profit for DC although I can't say I am crazy about Jack Black.

Hulk 2, FF4 2 & the punisher are some the worst movies made period and the bottom of the superhero cinema totempole. Those franchies dont compare to the man of steel. And be honest with yoorself, in what world is Ant-man better than Superman?

Marvel vs. DC:

I thank Marvel for kick starting the hero films back to relevance.

I thank them for producing films while I waited forever for DC to lurch into action.

I thank them for Spidey and XMen.

I thank them for continued product and marketing savvy.

I thank them for showing DC the way in these modern times.


Now that DC seems to know their way, I have raised the bar for them.

I want better QUALITY hero films. I dont need a hero film every 6 months.

I want DC to produce more diverse product and not just rely on BATS/SUPES.

Both Marvel and DC have produced some dreck recently: CATWOMAN/HULK anyone?

I fear both Marvel and DC will over develop characters that should have no place on the big screen: FLASH? WONDER WOMAN??? Been there, small screen.

New Marvel Movies mark the end of Superman movies - That is so funny. HAHA.
The only Marvel movies that was made that could stand against Superman is Spiderman. The others lack alot of quality. First off, out of all the movies only Spiderman was just as the comics. Spiderman didn't have a different costume. The only difference of the Spiderman movies and Spiderman comics is that Spiderman in the movies doesn't use webshooters. He web comes from under his skin. X-men and the rest of the other Marvel movies went a total different direction on the costumes. X-Men wore black or nearly black costumes. They had different colors in the comics. The Hulk was a bomb when it came out and you can find that movie at Wal-Mart for $10 bucks. The Punisher didn't do to well at the box office either and it too can be found in the $10 dollar section at Wal-Mart. FF4 did fair and wasn't as big as Spiderman. The Blade Trilogy did ok too but the first one was the best and the other two was junk to compare to the first one.

I have heard that they are putting Captain America and Iron Man on hold because they can't find a actor to play those roles. If they get Brad Pitt as Cap that movie would bomb in a heartbeat. I could see Tom Cruise as Iron Man but that is my opinion. Next year, DC is putting out four movies or at least they will try from the sources with Wonder Woman coming out first next year and if they get someone who can not only be known as WW.

The next Superman movie will be due out in 2008 or 2009. Marvel movies won't get rid of Superman that easy. Superman is the greatest hero and he won't go away with the likes of Hulk 2, FF2, and the other Marvel heroes.

With Captain Marvel in the works, that movie has to be done right. That is a hard hero to play. Green Lantern might be a good movie if also done right.
