I like a villain with a plan, they're so much more interesting than just the "smash and grab" thug type baddies. Goblin and Ock are Spidey's top "brain" villains and have been done already. So what other masterminds would you like to see in future films?

I would want Kingpin, Mysterio and Chameleon.

kingpin is owned by Fox.

Just give me the lizard and/or kraven

Tombstone and Mysterio would definitely work as mastermind villains. Not sure about Chameleon though, I see him more as a villain-for-hire so to speak.

Jameson, Smythe and yeh mysterio could be awsome.

Silvermaine maybe. With hammerhead as a No. 2 guy. I have this bad ass picture in my mind of a real life hammerhead with a square, metal skull sticking out of his head like frankenstein.

LOL, Mysterio would be a CGI nightmare, especially under the mediocre Sony Imageworks' visual effects company. :funny:

Aunt May (aka the Golden Oldie) should be revealed to be the Kingpin of crime, and help to create Scorpion and the Spider Slayers

Well, she would've been the mastermind behing Spider-Man 3's events if Raimi kept insisting on pursuing the Aunt Carnage route...

What, was May actually Uncle Ben's killer? All those years of fattening pot roast, plus the stress of having to raise a teenager?

Interesting that so many people want to see Tombstone. I always saw him as a lackey type, like Scorpion or Shocker.

After watching The Spectacular Spider-Man it is so hard for me to see Tombstone as any kind of lackey or enforcer.

Perhaps youre right, at least we saw what happened in SM3... :whatever:

Lizard & Mysterio are great villains if you ask me, but I am afraid they will blow it if they ever do Lizard for example, visual wise.

I was surprised to see that Spectacular Spider-Man made Tombstone a "boss" type of villain. I remembered him being a petty thug from the comics.

When it comes to the mastermind villains, the only few that are supers are Octavius and Osborn. However, Spidey has a lot of mobster villians as well who could fit the mastermind (main villain) role whereas a small time supervillain could be around as well. I found the idea in Spectacular that the supervillains like Sandman, Rhino, and Shocker were paid for by a mob boss to be created simply to distract Spidey while normal crooks do small time crimes elsewhere genius.

Since Kingpin is locked up with Fox. I could see Tombstone being a crime boss now thanks to Spectacular making him the Big Man. He also seems to be an interesting mix between normal criminal and supervillain, a "freak" crime boss if you will. Heck I have to say Spectacular did an amazing job with Tombstone, since he was always was just a lackey in the comics and was more of Robbie Robertson's villain. It worked surprisingly well and he just works as a crime boss.

Anybody rooting for Hammerhead to be in this reboot franchise?

She wanted Ben's insurance.

I guess I would prefer to see the new films based on the comics, not the last animated cartoon. Oh well, the first trilogy took aspects of SM:TAS, so I can deal with it. Naming Osborn's company OsCorp for example. The comics always called it Osborn Chemical.

Well, I'm fine with original stories and of course taken from comics as well, but I think Tombstone would be a fun character to use for a film.

Hammerhead would be nice too, but I can't picture him in my head without thinking of a Dick Tracy villain.

I'm not sure I want to see villains like Hammerhead or Kingpin in the franchise, not at all. Ever.

I would actually like to see Spidey pair off against an ordinary, non-super powered villain. It would be a nice change of pace.
