New Ronin

Co-signed! The New Avengers roster has too many ninja/samurai type characters. Really the only thing I dont like about the new team.

Be glad they didn't get them from the X-Men... then it would be Teenage Mutant Nija/Samurai

She's like Taskmaster. She can mimic any skill she see's. So she can fight like Cap, fight like DD, cook like Emril, dance like Michael Jackson, etc, etc.

Except, unlike Taskmaster, she seems to win fights with the same exact power (sans the superior strength of Taskmaster), where Taskmaster tends to get hurt and loses.

christ...even bendis can't keep up with all the crap he's spouting about new avengers. A few weeks ago he tells us the hood will be filling the kingpin's shoes and yesterday we get this gem...

Jesus man, keep up :whatever:

This actually irked me alot more.

If “Avengers don’t kill,” why is Black Widow carrying around a sniper rifle and why is Wolverine on the team?

I didn’t say, “Avengers don’t kill,” Captain America did. I know this morality angers people, but [Captain America] can’t have gone through World War II and never have killed anybody. The reality is, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Or, if that makes you uncomfortable, [Black Widow] has the sniper rifle, so she can aim really well and not kill anybody.

That fact more and more heroes are crossing the no killing line, irks me.

How does Cap saying "Avengers don't kill" suddenly equate to Cap's not killing people during World War II? I don't think anybody disputes that Cap can and has killed people before. The issue is context. Cap's arguing that a death sentence should be an absolute last resort, and that 9 times out of 10, there's a better solution. He sees killing as the easy way out, and he doesn't believe that the superheroes he commands should be so lazy as to resort to it. That's all. He's not saying that there's never a situation where killing could be acceptable, he's just saying that that those situations can and should be limited to the absolute minimum, and that he expects them to be where the Avengers are involved.

I dont take the "Avengers dont kill" motto seriously becouse in a fight alot of the time its either "kill or be killed".

And yet, somehow, many superheroes find a way to not let it come to that.

I threw this theory around on the spidey boards, thought i'd mention it here.

What if Ronin turned out to be....

BEN REILLY!

I would actually like that. Why would he be using a sword, though? If they pulled a "he's been recovering and training in Japan for the ten years we thought he was dead," I'd have to choke someone.

Everybody has trained in Japan though.

if you think about, it's sort of true. while captain america might not have actually been trained IN japan, he certainly knows different forms of martial arts. and cap's trained pretty much every hero in the marvel universe.
