So they're going Halloween 2018 with this, eh?
It's been at least 16 years since I last watched the remake, so I think it's time I do that. I'm not a fan of any of the sequels either, but I do remember being creeped out by the remake. The original is still the best, but I have no regrets in saying that this franchise is not that strong overall and is example of something that never needed a sequel.Surprised at how blatantly they are retreading Halloween 2018 with old lady Sally. "I've waited 50 years for this night..." (The new Scream really nailed the send-up of these "legacy sequels")
Not expecting anything great here, but still down for some TCM madness and to catch up with old man Leatherface. Will still be fun, even if it is terrible overall. The 2003 remake is still the best post-original TCM film (along with being one of the best of the modern horror/slasher remakes), and this is clearly evoking that to an extent.
Was Leatherface ever called Leatherface in the movies? Or is this the first time it being verbally said by a character? Just struck me as funny for some reason.
...this is a new actress playing Sally, sadly though - correct?

Oh damn, that’s sad.Yes because the original actress Marilyn Burns passed away.
The original TCM and the 2003 remake are definitely the best. Out of all the sequels, the original TCM 2 is still the best because it's just so ridiculous and clearly a spoof of the original. It also has one of the best jump scares, when Leatherface runs out of that dark room at the radio station.
Pretty sure they’ve said that from the beginning that it was going that route. But yeah definitely gonna be checking this out. Been excited for it. The only real bad films to me in this franchise are Next Generation and 3D. But Next Gen I can watch and at least enjoy for its absolute absurdity, like it’s so bad it’s good kind of thing.
