Is there a source with an actual quote? I'll admit, I could see why some would want him for Superman. But up against someone like Cavill, who I'm sure most people would agree is much more fitting for the character, he really didn't stand a chance. Weren't Matthew Goode and Bomer his 2nd and 3rd choices?

Well even though he didnt screen test Snyder must have liked him enough cause he was second choice

Btw on that Kev smith interview the guy interviewing him sounds like him so its almost like he's talking to himself

When fans put together a wish list of casting choices for the next Superman movie the name "Jessica Biel" tends to pop up on many a fan's Lois Lane list. LaineyGossip.com claim the actress is indeed near the top of the list of candidates for the role...

• I've been hearing from multiple sources lately that Biel is in consideration for at least two MAJOR profile projects working with MAJOR profile, very influential Hollywood players. The parts don't require much skill, if any, but they're looking for an attractive girl who can stand there and be the "girlfriend". And a lot of girls want this job. I'm told Jessica's very near the top of the list, if not at the top, specifically for a movie involving a dude who might, once in a while, fly around saving the world in a cape.

The "attractive girl who can stand there and be the 'girlfriend'" description doesn't sound much like Lois Lane in my opinion, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if there's any truth to this rumor at all.

Nice article, though it doesn't really tell us much we didn't know before, but it's nice hear Synder open up about the movie a little bit. It does seem to suggest that other characters have been cast already.

A day or so ago, Zack Snyder personally told Kellvin in an interview that Viggo Mortensen for whatever reason won’t be joining the new Superman film.

So that being my cue, I went out and did my usual scoop rounds and came across something interesting.

From what I’m told, I’m hearing that Edgar Ramirez who by the way killed it in the 5 hour CARLOS miniseries (can’t wait for the Criterion blu ray) is supposedly being eyed for a villain role in Zack Snyder’s Superman film.

Now at press time, I don’t know if it’s for General Zod or another villain role. The secrecy surrounding this project is that tight. I also don’t personally know if Edgar auditioned, or his name is simply being tossed around, or the producers have gotten into it with Edgar’s reps.

I feel though that Edgar being in Superman is within the realm of possibility because after all, he is already working for Warner Brothers and playing Ares, Zeus’ godly son and one of the bad guys in WRATH OF THE TITANS, the CLASH OF THE TITANS sequel which started production this week. Edgar also played the baddie in the last Jason Bourne film.

So for lack of a better word, consider this a “rumor” for the time being.
