News flash!

i will take this with a grain of salt...... sounds fake

How does it sound fake? It's an official press release with contact details. Email the warnerbros contact at the foot of the article if you think it's fake.

I doubt someone would go to this much trouble to fake it.

Good news!

Save the more extreme villains for the sequel when the Kryptionan aliens has been established in a real world.

Can we now get this place renamed "Man of Steel" instead of "Untitled Superman Film"? It's pretty much confirmed in that press release.
:yay:

Well Ive figured if Peter Pan can bring back a dead fairy by saying he believes in fairies, and causing the entire world to say it too...it may not be such a crazy idea for us to say I WANT A FRIGGIN CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

And it may just work. :cwink:
I didnt expect my idea to work, but hey!!!!:awesome:

Maybe this thread's title should be changed to "Super" Sunday?!

Even though every site on the net is reporting it including Superherohype, Variety, deadline, and Hollywood Reporter - and there's an official WB press release - you still think it's fake? I recall you saying some questionable things in the past but this takes the cake.

ummmm, I posted that when only one site had it up, before SHH, Yahoo, and other reliable sources. Did you notice the time of my post? Where were you when all this broke out, are you just waking up?

Kinda immature to make assumptions and accusations, don't you agree. I think you deserve............

i'll be your bizarro...

Zod? YEAH!!!!

I dont want Bizarro either but I like the actor playing Zod I just wanted to see something or someone compleatly different this time but... Im good with it. I am really happy with the cast and choices of people running the thing I just want to see a GREAT EPPIC that makes me go " Now THAT... was Superman!"

I have been a Superman Fan for a long time. The one on the car is me in
1966 LOL!

Oh well, at least it´s not Luthor again... I was hoping for Brainiac, but at least I hope they do something cool to reinvent the character, like Ledger with Joker.

Remember that the treatment for the never-made SR sequel concerned Brainiac masquerading as a kryptionian; so it follows that Zod could simply be Brainiac in disguise.
I would not count Lex out of the game just yet!
I'd wager the announcement of who is being cast as Lex will be next!

The Man Of Steel, huh?

I didnt think WB had the balls to lose the Superman-part of the title.

I think The Last Son Of Krypton has a more modern sound though.

From E! online UK,

http://uk.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b236182_superman_locks_diane_lane_in_room_three.html

Diane Lane, through a slip of the tongue maybe(?), has confirmed that Man of Steel is an origin story, "covering the entire range of years, from infancy on."

So we are likely getting the whole baby Kal-El rocketing from Krypton, etc.
I hope we don't have to wait to see Supes until 3/4 into the movie!
May also mean that Lane and Costner are only used during the first act?
Damn it, who will be cast as Jor-El and Lara?

hmmm......

Interesting... Hey they want a whole new verse... Snyderverse. Lets do it. :woot: Long movie is in the works me thinks.

This could be Clark being seen in flashback with the Kents in Smallville. Lane and Costner could appear old in present day throughout the movie and younger in the flashbacks. I don't see this as a confirmation of Krypton and Kal-El's rocket landing on Earth (not that I am against that) just that they could be showing the earlier years of life in Smallville.

There's any number of ways they could cover the "range of years," although her wording of "from infancy on" does seem to suggest starting there and moving forward, a la "Superman: The Movie", The Animated Series' "Last Son of Krypton", & numerous other tellings. Still, I suppose it's also possible things could be done somewhat out of order, similar to "Batman Begins."

Even if it is starting from infancy, then that could still be about life in Smallville.

I am just not fully convinced yet, because "Secret Origin" by Geoff Johns didn't show Krypton exploding and Kal-El's ship crashing. And "It's Superman" by Tom DeHaven didn't show any of Krypton life. I just think if WB have to or want to avoid that aspect at this point in time, they can.

apparently sean penn turned down a role? i wonder what it was? lex?
