News flash!

The guy in the video mentioned something about getting some shots of Russell Crowe's trailer. First of all, how would he know if it's Crowe's trailer. Are they marked with the star's name? I'm not sure exactly how that works, because I've never been on a movie set. Second of all, why would the trailer be on set when shooting isn't supposed to begin until the latter part of August (unless the start date has been pushed up)? Lastly, why in the world is Jor-El going to be in Smallville? Is Superman's fortress going to be a new version and in Smallville this time around? I personally hope they keep the fortress in the arctic. Maybe there will be some sort Kryptonian console in the barn and Jor-El is an interactive hologram or something? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out!

I thought the same about the trailer especially as we havent had an official announcement of Rusell Crowe yet

No official announcement, but Crowe has reportedly admitted to being in Chicago, working out and getting ready to shoot a movie. Not sure why they'd shoot his stuff in Chicago.

can somebody close this thread, everytime i see this, i think something new pops up, but everytime something new pops up, it goes in it's appropraite thread or a new thread is made.

this thread is redudent and disappointing

WHERE THE HELL IS THE COSTUME DAMN IT!

I'm hoping we see/hear something about it next weekend.

I think its been confirmed by Variety that Crowe is indeed Jor-el.

My understanding was that Variety only ever stated that he was in negotiations. He's almost certainly going to be Jor-El, but there has been no official announcement.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Man of Steel will begin production next week, nearly a month ahead of the expected start date. Granted a lot of it could be second unit, but still, it's news folks...

But David S. Goyer says he has a good excuse: He’ll be working on director Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Superman relaunch starring Henry Cavill — the superhero opus most likely to be the biggest story of next year’s Comic-Con. “It would the height of irresponsibility to break away at this point to go to Comic-Con,” the Man of Steel screenwriter (also a key member on Christopher Nolan’s Batman team) told EW in an interview last week. (The film, slated for release next year, begins shooting next week.)

I wonder if that signifies any chance for the film being released a bit earlier than December 2012?

Well they're scheduled to film in Canada until late January, and Snyder like to take a solid 7, 8 months on post-production, so even if sooner, probably not that much. Not a bad thought though considering that December is the same time frame for Hobbit which of course is also a WB flick; seems kind of counter-productive.

Too bad this film can't be released in late July or early August.lol

Hell let's have the DVD and Blu Ray released on December instead.lol

With the predicament that GL franchise is in, which they were hoping to release the sequel in 2013, I'm sure WB would have wanted to push it back but do to the lawsuit I dont think they can. There's also the issue of the hobbit, even though they started filming, its for two films so I'm wondering if they will push that back instead.

I just hope we get SOME news, soon.

hopefully something this weekend at the convention.........

Well there's no Lex, Perry and Jimmy so hopefully soon enough...

Well I'm on my phone and I'm not going to go diving through post so if it's been mentioned before sorry, but it has been confirmed that the new suit in the comics IS armor and I just read a interview with Lee and Diddio or however you spell it that the comic relaunch has little effect on the Man of Steel movie so odds are pretty high that the new comic suit is not going to be the suit in the movie...hopefully at least

I haven't read Birthright , but, upon reading this, my thoughts went straight to the 1986 Man of Steel reboot. Clark's discovery of his past began with him being haunted by an interactive hologram of Jor-el. Considering how much Goyer and Nolan drew upon Batman: Year One for Batman Begins, maybe John Byrne's Man of Steel series will be influential as well.

Release got pushed back till June 2013...

How is this possible?

It's in the front page of SHH.

It would've been nice to have MOS opened in the same year with TDKR, ASM, and the Avengers. I guess WB wants it to come out in summer but they couldn't get it in time for 2012, so they decided to push back.
