Do you feel a draft? I do.

Who will be number 1?

Will Cleveland's first rounds bomb again?

Let's go.

Sure is drafty in here. From all that Ive read at scouting reports and team interviews it sounds like Blake Bortles (or Clowney)will be the no1 overall pick for the Texans.

WalterFootball.com has spoken with sources with two of the four quarterback-needy teams picking in the top five, and both of those teams are rating Central Florida's Blake Bortles as the top signal-caller over Louisville's Teddy Brigewater and Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel. However, both of those teams see flaws in all three quarterbacks to the point that these sources think their organizations would get a better player by passing on the quarterbacks.

Barring Trade, Rams Deciding on Mack or Watkins
given The Rams GM and Falcons GM history and close friendship I believe that the Falcons will attempt to trade up for the Rams no2 pick and take Clowney.

Think a lot of Giants fans want them to pick TE Ebron. The other two names going around are OT Matthews and WR Evans.

Eric Ebron had quite a poor pro day , dropping a number of easy passes and a lot of teams are turned off by his ''throw it to me'' attitude.

Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports that UNC TE Eric Ebron "did not look good" at his Pro Day.
"Told Eric Ebron/TE/North Carolina did not look good at pro-day...dropped a number of passes and generally looked poor in drills," Pauline tweeted. Ebron is a player with natural hands who has the ability to make spectacular catches with ease, but his hands just aren’t as good as publicized with a 11.43% drop rate, which should not be overlooked. With that being said, Ebron should still be the first tight end prospect off the board in this years draft.

An AFC personnel executive ripped UNC TE Eric Ebron, calling him "completely overrated."
"Hell no," the personnel man said when asked if Ebron was as good as the Bengals' Tyler Eifert. "He’s OK. He’s completely overrated, and he’s a pain in the (butt). And don’t ask him to block anybody, because he’s not going to do it." The anonymous evaluator, naturally, doesn't like this year's TE class either: "It’s not good at all. I wish it was. But it’s not. It’s actually a bad year for tight ends. There’s nobody even close to Eifert (a 2013 first rounder). (Zach) Ertz (whom the Eagles got in the second round) is better than these guys."

As for Mike Evans, I see him going to Tampa Bay to play alongside Vincent Jackson, esp now since they traded Mike Williams to the Bills.

Yeah I read he's not the best run blocker, but I think he might be the best TE in this draft class. Although the Giants did pick up Kellen Davis.

I just read that, I also believe he is the best TE but not by a long margin (they could easily go DT perhaps Aaron Donald or OT mathews? and take TE CJ Fiedorowicz later), I just dont think Ebron is the type of player Tom Caughlin wants in the locker room.

So I have a question.

I'm not into College football. I never went to college, I don't have any allegience to any team. There are just too many teams to even know where to begin. Yet, I'm very interested in the NFL and therefore the NFL Draft. How the heck do you people keep up with so many different college players in different teams? I'd like to start learning these people, watching College Football, etc. but where the heck do I start?

Just like watching NFL, if you watch enough college games, you become familiar with certain players.

>2014 NFL Draft
>not having a top 3 pick

I feel sorry for the rest of you plebs

#1 Texans Johnny Manziel
# 2 Rams Jadeveon Clowney (Rams have two first round picks #2 and #13)
#3 Jags Teddy Bridgewater
#4 Browns Blake Bortles or Derek Carr unless Browns trade for the Rams 2 over all pick for Teddy Bridgewater (Browns have two first round, two third round, and two fifth round picks.

Naw. It sounds more like the draft will end up in one of these three scenarios:

1. Bortles
2. Robinson/Watkins/Mack
3. Clowney

1. Clowney
2. Robinson/Watkins/Mack
3. Watkins/Mack (whichever is still there, Mack over Watkins if both are)

1. Bortles
2. Clowney (Falcons trade up)
3. Watkins/Mack

It doesn't seem like the Jags have any plans to draft any QB at 3. And honestly I'm not convinced that Cleveland or the Raiders will take QBs at their spots either. I wouldn't be surprised if two out of the three end up falling to the bottom of the first or top of the second honestly, most likely Bridgewater and Manziel.

If the Rams keep there pick I hope its Watkins.

Do you feel a draft? I do.

Who will be number 1?

Will Cleveland's first rounds bomb again?

Let's go.

Thanks for the Draft thread IF!

but I need to yell at you about the Cleveland diss! :D If you're considering Richardson and Weeden the "bombs" I agree, but at least the management has gotten rid of them and even stole a first rounder for Richardson. Other than those two I don't know who can be considered a "bomb" in recent memory? Mack/Haden/Taylor/Mingo are the last five years with Richardson/Weedon between Taylor and Mingo, so I'd say the other 4 years have been great calls or at least worked fine for us. Can't wait to see Mingo again this season!

As for this years no.4 overall pick I'm honestly still not sure what I want, at the moment I think I want Watkins but that changes daily. I'm not sold on any of the QBs really, it's safe to assume one of the top 3 guys will be off the board by no.4 and it's easy to make cases for and agianst each guy. Manziel is interesting because he brings a ton of media appeal to the city of Cleveland, either good if he does well or bad if hes a bum. I just can't bring myself to really want a QB at that top spot as I'd like to see more of a healthy Hoyer.

You can also make a case for the Browns drafting OL with Greg Robinson, we let two guards go this offseason so he would fill a gap right away on an overall steady and established line (Thomas, Mack, Schwartz).

Even if Clowney falls to 4 I wouldn't be upset, I can't disagree with improving a defense that showed flashes of greatness last season and added some decent pieces in the offseason as well.

But as of right now Sammy Watkins is where my heart is set, adding him to the likes of Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, and newly added Ben Tate is by all means an offensive juggernaut from a skill position perspective. But that runs into the question of "who is going to get anyone the ball?" which my only counter is my hope that what I saw out of Hoyer pre injury is a sign that he can lead this team properly.

As for the second pick in the first round, 21 i believe?, I don't know who I want. It really comes down to who they take with that no.4 pick. If it's WR I think I want QB next, if it's QB I think I want OL next, if it's Defense I think I'd want best offensive player available.

It's pretty surprising to me that no matter what the Browns do, outside of trading the pick to go later in the draft, I can't see myself being upset. QB is my least favorite option, but I'd be willing to wait and see on the result. If they package picks and trade up I'm also okay with it if they feel that player (probably Bridgewater) is their guy that can get it done.

But hey, new management, new coaches, new players. If I've seen it once here I've seen it a millions times. I can only wait and see haha.

(sorry for the length.. I love the draft haha, it's like second Christmas.)

One of these days I'll actually learn these defensive positions.

here's an online mock draft: http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock

post your mock draft results (try not to suck as the cleveland browns :oldrazz:)

here's my draft as the st.louis rams:

here's how the first 42 picks shaped up:

it was a toss up between watkins and robinson for the 13th pick. garoppolo at the 4th round would have been even better

How the hell did Watkins fall to 13 even in a simulated draft?! Lol.

That is one messed up draft simulator..no way the draft will shake out like that.

If the Browns take Watkins, Raiders take Manziel....and vice versa.

I think Bortles is your #1 overall draft pick with Clowney going second.

Honestly, everyone keeps saying there is no way Manziel falls out of the top 10...I can see him falling to the bottom of the first or top of the second in certain circumstances, Bridgewater too. I can see us and the Texans passing on both, Cleveland taking Watkins or Mack, the Raiders opting to go BPA as well and taking one of the tackles or Watkins/Mack if they're there, and it sounds like Minnesota also wants to pass on a QB in the first. If they get pass Minnesota at 8 it's a free fall from there unless the Titans pick one of them up.

I think Oakland and Manziel is a match made in heaven. He has that attitude that the Raiders could thrive on. I too could see him falling deep in the draft. That's why the Patriots were meeting with him.

If Manziel goes to Oakland or Cleveland, his career will end before it starts.

You're dreaming if you think Watkins is still going to be there at 13. He won't make it past 10.

Typical "I actually know nothing about football" comment.

A great player will thrive no matter the situation he's put into. Not that I personally believe Johnny is that player, but it wouldn't matter if he goes to the Browns/Raiders or the Seahawks a great player should be great regardless. See: Luck, Andrew or Wilson, Russell, or Brees, Drew.
