Long live The Cage.

Sure he'll be coming out with a **** movie sometime this year but you fire enough shots you hit a bullseye eventually. I'm hoping for the day when Cage is out of debt and he'll be more consistent. Because even after watching The Trust, an okay movie, and Mom and Dad, a damn enjoyable movie, the guy remains consistently great in them. He's one of my favorite actors for a reason. I'm making my way through Joe and it's great to see the content match his talents.

I really want a trailer.

Welcome to the club. You have a lot of movies to watch. Don't worry, you won't be running out of movies to watch anytime soon. :funny:

That added Zandalee on Vudu. ****ing finally.

I read a spoiler about this and sweet baby jesus! I need to see this now.

Big fan of Nic Cage.

there's no such thing as a "bad" nic cage performance.

the man does not understand the meaning of "phoning it in"

If anything, he mostly does the exact opposite, but that's why we love him.

his level of acting is beyond standard human comprehension.

that is why some foolish people mistake it as bad acting.

but it is really that he is tapping into something that is outside the box.

something outside of mere mortal understanding.

There should be a scene where Nic is singing a love song.

I hated Beyond the Black Rainbow so I remain very skeptical of this one.

Insane Nicolas Cage action-thriller Mandy to be released this summer

http://ew.com/movies/2018/03/08/nicolas-cage-mandy-release-date/

It was announced Thursday that RLJE Films has acquired all U.S. rights to the Nicolas Cage-starring action-thriller Mandy, and that the company plans to release the already semi-notorious film this summer. Written and directed by Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow), Mandy stars Cage and Andrea Riseborough as a couple whose existence is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand.

MANDY is a trippy, revenge fantasy mind****. Mad Max meets Evil Dead by way of David Lynch. Nicolas Cage gives his best unhinged performance ever. #Mandy #Cannes2018

One of the most wonderful and surprising elements is Nicolas Cage’s performance as Red. He takes on the classic hero role and brings the life-saving amount of humour necessary for Mandy to succeed. He slips into the fantastical spirit of the film and strikes the perfect balance between being a realistic hero and embracing the over-the-top absurdity that is the plot.

Mandy is a risky move but the bigger the risk the bigger the payoff, right? Although weird and aggressive – and at times just plain gross – it easily has the potential to talk on cult following and become the stuff of legends.

For years, Nicolas Cage’s more extreme performances have been derided as a blight on cinema, but it turns out that cinema just had to catch up. Mandy, the new film from Panos Cosmatos, which had its European premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last night, is the ideal stage for an all-time-great Cage wig-out, and the actor ferociously obliges.

Equal parts supernatural splatter horror and hypnotic gallery installation, Mandy unfolds in a doom-laden narcosis that is not quite like anything else around, although there are cinematic reference points everywhere, including musky top notes of Lars von Trier’s Antichrist, Nicolas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy, and the fluorescing giallo horror of Dario Argento. It often looks like an Iron Maiden album cover cartoon come to life – and there are [BLACKOUT]three brief animated dream sequences[/BLACKOUT] which owe a stylistic debt to Heavy Metal, the science fiction magazine.

Greatest actor in film history. Eat it, haters. :woot:
