Nightwing the film, or the series

I'm surprised there hasn't been a *Batman* TV show, nevermind Nightwing. I've never received a convincing answer for why such has never happened in recent years.

Back when Smallville was being conceived there was a Bruce Wayne TV show being developed. It, like Smallville, was supposed to be 5 years long and at the end of every year Bruce would take one step closer to becoming Batman, eg the first year was to end with Bruce discovering the cave etc.


It was scrapped in favour of Batman Begins.

I'd take Nightwing any which way DC or Warner could offer him to us. A live action series would be ideal, but animation would work just as well too. Perhaps later, if the series develops into a hit, it could translate to be big screen.

The reason why it hasn't happened is the conflict with the Batman films.
