Nine Eleven

Next you're going to say that we should use the metric system! ;)

(I totally support the metric system.)

I think you will find you are the backwards ones, the rest of the world go DD MM ;)

I know, but it still doesn't flow logically in my mind. We number the days of the month to know when in each month it is, thus the month is really more important than the day.

Pfff! A month is more important?? NEVAH!!!

logically it should go day, month, year, smallest to largest... like time but back wards...

9/11 was a scary day, I was 12 but I still remember it vividly. I still think about that day from time to time, but it doesn't occupy my every day live.

What is more of a difference: May 1st and December 1st or January 5th and January 12th?

Remember, you're comparing 5/1 and 12/1 in each. :cwink:

What are you on about :huh::huh:

I lost track. Something about months being more important than individual days, as a day's difference means little, but each month is different from the next.

See told you, you lot are backwards :p :word::word:

Drive on the proper side of the road as well you hippies

Only the Hype can go from discussing a terrorist attack to who's measurement system is better.

Next we'll start hearing about which Model T got the most hectares per corn gallon.

Right turn on topic:
Did you know there are a number of "Tower Babies" that were concieved as a direct result of the twin towers attack?

I read this a couple of years ago,.. I'll se if I can find it,....

It was a scary day 7 years ago. I feel bad for the familes and they won't ever forget and shouldn't. But it doesn't mean anything to me anymore, it's all become tainted to me because alot of folk use it as a reason to go to war and pretend it's the worse thing thats happen in American history when it doesn't even come close. I think the families honoring their loved ones is awesome but I'm tired of all of the celebrations. Thats what I call em because thats what the vast majority are. America has some sick obsession with constantly celebrating horrible events and I for one am tired of it. Not saying anyone should forget but after all of the things I know now I'm not going to pretend that America was 100 percent innocent or that I know it wasn't caused by our goverment. When you consider the fact that this goverment has killed many more people than were killed on 9/11 all over the world, *cough*uselessiraqwar*cough* it's kinda hard to pretend that our policies have no bearing on what happen if our goverment weren't the ones who did it. So yeah I feel bad for the families and the families that were hurt by our horrible foreign policy.

I'm not going to pretend that we are living in a StarWars good V evil world...sorry.

G-d bless this mess.

P.S

I'm fully expecting the people who disagree with me to whine and take my post out of context. As a dumb ass killer Cowboy who calls himself pres says: "Bring it on."

Well, I'm glad you're expecting it.

I don't think you're totally trolling though because I can understand your point. I agree that our current foreign policy is pretty crappy and I can agree that 9/11 has been memorialized and trivialized to the point of near disgust for many people. I honestly felt that way 7 years ago tomorrow. You remember, when the flags came out. I knew that wasn't going to last and it pissed me off that we would even fake it.

But then I grew up and realized that over 3,000 people died. Not soldiers either. Just folks. Going to work. Probably *****ing about gas prices or drinking coffee. And while American's have a bad habit of making a capitalist venture out of everything that doesn't mean we should forget about it.

When all is said and done regardless of the movies, celebrations, memorabilia, plate sets, flag-waving, and political rhetoric is done. 3,000 people died. I don't think we should **** on that just because our government made bad choices after the fact.

PS

Also, you should probably check Barack Obama's voting history because he voted in support of the Middle-Eastern invasion. ;)

Hostile because people may not agree?

Nah,.. I don't feel you'll get too much heat becauase the point of this thread is the lack of concern/conversation on the subject.

7 years after the fact,... America is going thru the motions while pulling a "same ol, Same old" 'tude in relation to the rest of the world.

Meh,... I remember a picture of a man looking back at the building that he got out of just in time.

Still brings tears to my eyes,.. the body language was HORRIBLE.

The History Channel had on a lot of great specials yesterday. Mostly raw amateur footage. Amazing stuff, very different than the usual news stuff.

There was a family filming from the window of their home, they had a little girl who was trying to explain what happened to her younger brother. There was some from a group that entered building 7 shortly after the towers collapsed. A lot of footage from the street, Times Square at a stand still in the middle of the day, now that was spooky.

Why talk about 9-11 when there is juicy gossip about Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penqiun?

I,like most everyone, will never forget that day. I watched some of the programs on the History channel the other day and it reminded me of how scary it was(as time goes on it kinda fades a bit). Watching the planes crash into the buildings and seeing people falling(or jumping)rather than burn to death was horrifying. I hadn't seen that in a while.
