The Dark Knight Rises Nolan Breaks His Silence On Batman III

Actually, Singer did get flack, lol. If Singer had done X3, more than likely it would have at least bested out Ratner's take, and we also would have never gotten SR. Comic book films would have been better off this way.

And Nolan probably won't get too much backlash, but I imagine people will ask "why couldn't you just finish the trilogy so no one f**ked it up?".

And Nolan doesn't have to answer, if he felt the series didn't need a trilogy and didn't want to do it, a sucky third film is not his problem. He could just say "I told you so".

to be honest you know he's gonna come back I mean he did it with Batman Begins left us with an ending for a possible sequel then said he might be busy. Chris Nolan is the biggest tease in the world.

There is no doubt in my mind that Nolan won't be back for the 3rd film. WB will throw everything but the sink at him in terms of money but hes just not in it for that. I can see that its already taken up so much of his life that he just wants to move on and leave it on the high it is.

Oh really? Where's your proof?

Your best case scenario for a third film is merely... an average product? A bit cynical there.

I guess I'm just not trying to get my hopes up because if theres one thing people should also realize, this third film (if made by nolan) is going to be something that probably wont be influenced heavily from stories they like and I think it will really polarize some people. The result being some will love it, and others will say its not as good as the second.

I think this third film is really going to be left more up to Nolans interpretation and thats why I say this. I mean when you think of Batman Begins you have year one. Then you look at the Dark Knight, they took the best ideas from the long halloween, took the joker and made it better IMO. From the beginning I really couldnt imagine anyone screwing up that story because Harvey Dents story, if told properly (I'm looking at you Batman Forever), is compelling enough that you would have to be a real jerk not to care about.

As fans I think there's nothing people enjoy more than ripping on a movie, just look at these boards and if the third film doesnt meet the expectations of some i think it will be unfairly judged.

All I gotta say about this interview really is just this:

Finally something.

It's all starting over again.

This really is the first piece of legit "BB3 news". Even if it is a "I'll think about it, kids" comment by Nolan.

.......I miss that damn Rory pumpkin. At least then I knew when i had something to look forward to. Midnight every night. lol.

Yup.

The Batpod is the slipcover for the 2-Disc DVD/Blu Ray versions.
Yes, UNfortunatly!... It's the absolute one poster for TDK that really sucks! It's so Joel Schumacherish, and reflects a lamo over the top movie (in best Schumacher style) which it surdently isn't!... Why oh why did they go with that one!!??? the cover-art on the "fake" one is the good stuff.

Arg, seriously Nolan. One more...pleeeeeeeease?

I'd rather Nolan take his time, and do things right, than rush it. There have been far too many times when movie franchises are going great, and then fall into nothing, I mean.

And so I say if he wants to do some other movies, or let Batman rest for a bit--then by all means, he should. And I think it'd benefit the audience, too.

I know for me, The Joker is pretty much the top-notch go-to villain for Batman--which isn't to say I don't like and/or appreciate the other villains, only that I think The Joker is the best. And so I think it'd be beneficial to give a couple years before introducing other villains and the like--give people a chance to distance themselves from everything.

nolan took a break in between Batman Begins and the dark knight when he directed the prestige and look what we got. magic with the dark knight. let him take a break and youll be pleased

Let Nolan take his time. Im sure he and his brother can do wonders in the 3rd and I have a strong feeling that it will be the best of the trilogy.

I have all faith that if Nolan wants to do a third one, it'll be great. However if he doesn't I'm perfectly fine with a 2 part Batman story thats done amazingly well.

oh. that's gonna be tough. so many seperate elements went into making TDK such a great sequel. And probably the best sequel of all time.

The third movie would.. I don't think I can even grasp the concept of how great the third movie would be... trying to is making my brain hurt....
I'll settle for a movie better than Batman Begins, though.

Can people please stop using "Schumacher" as synonymous with bad?

I'm ready to hear the name of the main villain! That will hold me over till any release date. For better or worse.

TeeHee, the movie with Mr. Freeze was on today!

I watched it.
I laughed.
And i realized how much i love pretty much anything to do with Batman. lol.

depending on what director replaced him, i wouldnt be too broken up if nolan called it quits. he did a solid job, but nothing that a quality director couldnt continue or top.

I had a dream last night that Nolan didn't come back. He made an announcement in the press apologizing but asking the fans to accept that he simply couldnt find a suitable way to take the story. He felt in the hands of someone else the film would be better off.

To say the absolute least...t'was a sad dream.

Considering they haven't even decided to make it yet, I hardly think they know what its going to be.

Here's an idea....have Michael Bay direct BB3...

Just joking.... :)

seriously, after nolan just made WB a billion dollars in one movie...im sure when the time comes he will get an offer he cant refuse.

I dont know why people think Nolan won't return.

Batman is his baby.
If he doesn't return, fans will riot.
If he doesn't return, WB would have a fit.
If he doesn't return, the cast/crew would be sad. Christian Bale even said so in an interview.

He'll come back. But I think he'll request to do another movie prior to Batman 3.

even if you didn't like nolan, @ least he proved to those pompous executives @ WB that batman needs to be dark & serious...

so hopefully, thanks to nolan, we'll never see batnipples or the batuzi EVER AGAIN

Can we drop the nipple thing now? It is eleven years old.
