"Non-Stop Cyclops" Marathon Sept. 11 on Nicktoons

Basically a two hour marathon focusing on eps. that pertain to Slim Summers himself. Glad to see Nicktoons understands what the deal is.

Yeah, the castration/mutilation of Cycke's character sucks the fun out of a marathon dedicated to his episodes.

Nicktoons didn't make the show. They only picked it up after it was already basically finished.

Nope. If I had to pick, I'd pick Wolverine to watch. Cyclops is boring to me. I realize Wolverine is everywhere already, but at least he's fun.

I really don't think you know what character you are talking about. This is the LEADER of the X-men in the comics! Along with a master of strategy and beyond belief athletic ability. Cyclops is one of the finest X-men of all time, maybe THE finest X-man. When people look for leadership it pretty much points to him. I do know what character I'm talking about. I've been an X-Men fan since I was 15. Please don't accuse me of otherwise just because we
have different perceptions.

If you think he's great, fine. Some people do. I just thought a lot
of fans found him boring and didn't realize he had fans on these boards.

I realize he might be an interesting character in his own right and he does have good qualities and all that, but I've never been drawn to him as a character. He just doesn't interest me in that way.

I'm really sorry to any Cyclops fans. Trust me, I hate it when people start
talking badly about Gambit, so I know how you feel. I wasn't trying to personally offend anyone, I just didn't think it would go over so badly.
I don't want to start any fights.

Im sorry, but i think (going that this series has tweaked and altered characters/storylines), they have given Cyc depth. He isn't just the boy scout for Prof. X, he for the most part is a greaving widow almost, and then when the one ..smallest once of hope of Jean is alive, he pulls himself back, he goes to see Sinister HIMSELF, goes on a rampage, has a badass moment fighting off the Multiple Men. Not to mention, the added character of towards the end, his hidden feelings toward Emma for helping/hurting/helping him.

Being a worthless, incompetent putz your whole life because you didn't have a pretty girlfriend to hold your hand and tell you what to do isn't deep, it's pathetic.

No, but the fact they made him into the loser of the team means they ****ed him over.

They basically made him more one dimensional then ever by following the stereotype that Cyclops is nothing without Jean. They basically boiled him down to just that. He doesn't have any relationships with the rest of the team and he doesn't have a sense of commitment to the cause they're fighting for. He's completely one-note. Every time he opens his mouth it has something to do with Jean. He doesn't have any character besides that. Professor X and the rest of the X-Men don't seem to care about him and they definitely don't respect him. Professor X being a father figure to Scott and Scott being close with all the team mates he worked with all his life like Beast and Angel? Yeah, none of that is shown here. It makes it a mystery why they even keep him around because no on besides Emma seems to like him and he isn't a valuable asset. They made it clear that he was a loser before Wolverine showed up and while Jean was gone he pretty much became a renegade member. He is in fact a detriment to the team.
