Notre Dame Cathedral on fire

I really dont like the idea of redesigning the spire and roof. It shouldnt be adapted for our era because that cathedral isnt of or a part of our era. And making it a competition between architects is just gaudy.

The original spire was built in the 13th century but it became bent during the next 5 centuries because of wind damage and was removed in the 1700s. Then when the renovations were done in the 1800s they recreated the spire to match the original.

Something interesting I found out, the rooster atop the spire contained three relics. "A tiny piece from the Crown of Thorns in the Cathedral treasury, and relics of Denisand Saint Genevieve, patron saints of Paris." The relics were put there by the Archbishop in 1935 to protect the congregation from lightning and other harm. Idk if the relics were still there. Hopefully they werent.

Are there any modern Cathedrals? I don't mean the megachurches run by the Joel Olsteen types that only preach that you can buy your way into heaven. Also the fact that Joel Olsteen values money so much and has a huge following among Christians is something I find hilarious. There are plenty of verses in the bible that are anti wealth.

Not gonna get into all that, but you rarely will find a poor preacher.

Come down my neck of the woods and you'll find a lot of preachers in the poor income bracket.

It varies I guess. I know growing up my mom was overtly religious while my dad never went to church at all and he sometimes griped about how much she donated money wise. They got together somehow lol.

Some people are getting jumpy at the idea that a religious war is brewing. I looked to see if there was truth to the claims that Muslims had been arrested in connection to other church burnings in France, but I didn't see anything. Anyone know anything?

It probably isn't true. If it were there would be something from more reliable sources by now.
