Nova/Nova Corp Movie and How It Should Open (Spoilers for Infinity War)

Not sure if the MCU will get around to it, but I've always been partial to the Nova character. And he's always been a character I wanted to see onscreen.

Now that Infinity War is in the books and done, here's my basic idea on how a Nova movie should start:

At the start of Infinity War, Thanos already has the Power Stone. He likely had to wreck Zandar and Nova Corp. HQ to get it. So that means Zandar and all the Nova Corp. HQ were massacred.

In the process, Nova Prime or someone should send out their special prototype Centurion helmet. It should be downloaded with all the knowledge of the universe/Nova Corp/World Mind to seek out a new wearer to carry on the legacy of the Nova Corp. Enter Richard Ryder (or Sam Alexander...).

But the movie basically opens in a flashback of Thanos and the Black Order just wrecking Nova Corp HQ. So that way we get another sequence with those characters and we get to see a pivotal moment in the MCU that takes place entirely offscreen beforehand.

I mean if they do a Nova movie, who wouldn't want to see that?

Actors in their 30s play younger characters all the time.

They would probably go with a Latino actor in his 20s if anything due to the issue of longevity...I would go with Tyler Posey

Why is everyone talking about a Latino actor? James Gunn has even said there's been discussion about using the "real" Nova, Richard Rider.

I've been looking forward to a Nova Corp film for some time now. But I'm a little wary about how they were handled by Thanos in the Black Order.

If we do get a back story of the Black Order or just Thanos Slaughtering Xandar and the Nova Corps with ease then it will diminish any other major story that may have potential. Specifically an Annihilation Arc which wont feel as much like a threat if Thanos already did it.

Thanos and the Infinity Stones are the main reason why I think Marvel Compromised the Mandarin. Those 10 Rings all having different powers are too similar to the Infinity Stones. I just hope that IW doesn't raise the bar too high for other directors in future sequels and new franchises to keep up.

This is a problem I have with James Gunn.

Probably because of Sam Alexander and "woke/diversity." My understanding is that Sam Alexander is mixed race.

So make it so the new Nova will be the Sam Alexander version.

I haven't seen the James Gunn quote on that. He's also not high on the Nova character, but we shall see.

Nova is a no brainer. Latinos are a huge ticket demographic and Black Panther shows there is a huge hunger for more diverse superheroes. That plus ties to the Guardians of the Galaxy? Easy money.

I remember a lot of folks thought that by getting back Spider-Man TPTB would seriously consider doing Morales instead of Peter Parker. I would bet that even if they did a Richard Rider Nova that the actor would have some Latino identity, maybe about as much as Charlie Sheen no matter how European "white" he looked. And the love interest or mother would be an actress not identified as black like Zoe Saldana or Rosario Dawson but on the darker side of the Latino spectrum

Not really the same thing. Peter Parker is a pop culture icon and one of the most famous characters on the planet. Nova isn't very well known, and in fact, the characters highest profile appearances were on television, where it was the Sam Alexander version used. So really you could use either one and it wouldn't make much of a difference, as far as the audience is concerned.

Basically, it'd be a good way to show Thanos again after he's been dealt with and have the audience be all "Holy ****" at the beginning of the movie. That will be the tie in to the main MCU before you get into the main Nova movie. But I'm not Kevin Feige

The main issue is that if the Fox deal gets done, that could put something like Nova further on the back burner to put the focus on things like Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Fantastic Four, Galactus, Kang, Deadpool, X-Men, etc.

I love the character; one of my favorite of the cosmic guys (together with Quasar!). I believe he could be huge.

Considering Feige thinks he has immediate potential, I'm inclined to believe we will see him sooner than later.

Of course the first 10 minutes or so of the video will be the spoiler you posted. Not only because it would be awesome and everyone wants to see more of that, but it would also be a nice way to sell the movie by playing some footage of that in the trailer. Win win situation.
