Nova!!

But then it's not "Nova", which is used as the superhero name for Richard Rider and Sam Alexander. If it's some random Novacorps member it would just be Rhomann Dey or Garthan Saal or someone similar. It might not even be a comicbook character.

This would be the same as saying that you Green Lantern could be in a JL movie, even if Hal Jordan, Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner can't be used. I mean, you could just use Larvox or Medphyll, right? They're also Green Lantern, right?

Yes right nobody knows or cares about Nova outside of the small percentage of fans he could literally be anyone. Most of the characters in GotG from Nova Prime to Star Lord were portrayed out of character from the comic origin anyways. Whats one more. Gunn just doesn't like Nova because hes afraid he'll steal Star Lords shine. Like Singer was afraid of Gambit stealing Wolverines.

Personally I like Nova. My point was just that it doesn't really have any value to have a random Nova Corps member assist in a Guardians film. We pretty much already had that anyway.

I agree with Gunn, there's not really a point in having another human in the film, especially one that's so similar to Star-Lord and isn't even a guardian himself. There are a lot of other interesting guardians left to introduce before him.

Maybe they could do a Nova solo film in phase 5 (or 4, but probably not). I would like it to be annihilation, but Ronan's dead and Marvel can't use Annihilus, Kl'rt and Silver Surfer as far as I'm aware, so that story would have to be completely different. If they ever adapt it I'm guessing they'll also increase the roles of Peter and Drax and probably introduce the other guardians in some way too.

Why can't Nova just be stand alone? He is listed as one of the most Powerful Superheroes in the comic universe and not just Marvel. Marvel has enough characters to focus on in their space epic so Nova doesn't have to be featured in GOTG future films. They could even do the New Warriors first.

Nova is my second favourite solo character. I'm extremely pissed that Gunn gets to make the call about him over Feige

If feige wanted nova there's nothing gunn could do to stop him from getting in.

Maybe Feige has plans for Nova?? One can only hope so.

A better chance for Nova would be his own TV series or solo film.

It isn't like Nova is ruled out forever. Gunn just said he won't be in GoTG2.

Yeah and he said that as he doesn't want to have another human hero flying round space atm, that doesn't stop the rest of the Nova Corp from appearing. In GotG the Corp clearly didn't have their abilities so it would be nice in the next film to show that they have made use of the Gem to develop some upgrades (the GotG score even contains a track called 'A Nova Upgrade'). Let the audience get introduced to the real Corp before bringing in a human corp member, saves the need for introductions when they came to do a Nova movie also.

While I do like Rider I can see Marvel (well Disney to be honest) having issues with the name, so I can see it ending up being altered for film. As for Alexander I'm not sure they would go with him as the character is a young kid, that could limit what they can do with him, unless Marvel were to make it as a Young Adults film like Hunger Games, Divergent etc. But I think it would heavily depend on how well that sort of film would blend in the MCU.

Thats the next logical step after Women/Minorities. Children Super Heroes will be huge. Power Pack done seriously would kill. But Shazam has major potential a kid who can turn into a big strong hero? Every little kid will love him he'll end up being the most popular hero ever when thst film releases and if done right.

If they want kid superheroes they should do Runaways. Molly would probably be instantly loved by many.

Yeah but studios can get nervous about having kids in real danger. I could see Disney being nervous about a kid fighting adults and potentially getting beat-up by an adult. There have been YA films that have had that sort of content Hunger Games being a prime example (although it is more kid on kid violence) but those films tend to be pretty serious in tone, a tone which might not gel well with the rest of the MCU. But then YA films are big business, it just depends on if that it a type of film Marvel want to bring into the MCU.

Personally I would prefer a Richard Rider (or whatever his name is adjusted to Sam Rider/ Richard Alexander etc) as I would love to see an Annihilation adaption in the MCU (one of the reasons I would like to see the FF rights back at Marvel). An Annihilation film could be the cosmic side of the MCU's Avengers film, their big team-up movie.

But Nova is a member of the Nova corps IOW soldiers of Xandar. That would make Sam a child soldier which is bad, very bad.

I mean Hollywood is going to try and make a Naruto movie, and almost all those kids are child soldiers forced to fight in wars and deadly missions.
