Bought/Thought January 14, 2009

The laptop wasn't brand new. A family friend bought herself a new one and gave her old one to my niece for christmas

The cell phone was new though...:cmad:

Well it would be kind of unnecessarily difficult to slap her dad. Gotta get a shovel, whole bunch of digging...

As for her mom, nah I'm not smacking my sister unless it's something reeeeaaaally important. Like she sits on one of my comics or something.

Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, but nonetheless, somebody oughtta really smack your sister for her bad parenting...

Your neice will be lucky to even read when she gets out of high school...

:csad:

I honestly could give a rat's ass about my ex-brother-in-law...he was a jackass and that's why my sister divorced him.

And my sister's a bad parent because someone else gave my niece a laptop? :whatever: Whatever...

Just introduce her to Digg and she'll read well enough. Spelling's another matter.

After reading the Obama story in Amazing Spider-Man, I gotta say that I'm downright disgusted that this got more attention than the freaking [blackout]DEATH OF BATMAN!!![/blackout]

The Obama story was just horribly written and reminds me of the damn Cult of Obama that really turned me off him during the election in the first place.

Big deal... Batman will return as Bruce Wayne after Gaimen's little two parter some time this year with a new rebooted beginning ala Byrne's Man Of Steel.

Blame DC's ****** marketing department.

And this time they'll draw Bruce to look exactly like Christian Bale :o

The worse thing about the Spider-Man Obama issue is that is wasn't as good as the Savage Dragon Obama issue.

I feel Batman RIP had a lot to do with it. That was a typical ongoing story, but people expected the death of Batman. To inconsistent readers, Final Crisis' "death" could be viewed as DC crying wolf. It doesn't help that the media hasn't paid attention to event comics since Civil War ended.

No... because she gave her nine year old daughter a cell phone...

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

While I agree a nine year old doesn't need a cellphone saying someone is a bad parent because of that is stupid.

Why do people even care if the media covers a story? I mean, I understand why, but seriously...why?

Well its stupidity that Spider-man sold out everywhere just because of Obama i'm sure Marvel is proud of it selling out, but it wasn't because its good its because everyone who wasn't going to buy it already either bought it for the obama cover or to sell on ebay. I hope comic shops were selling the Obama variant for 100 bucks cause i saw it sell for 150 on ebay the other day. well atleast charge non-regulars 100.

Is it really that bad if an 11 year old has a phone?

Of course not! If they didn't, you wouldn't know which ones to punch in the face!

But I'd rather blame Marvels marketing department. They're such attention ****es :csad:

Apologies if I'm just missing the intentional irony here but isn't that what a marketing department is for?

No 11 year olds shouldn't have cell phones, what do they need them for at that age. Most say for protection, just in case anything bad happens. But come on, how often do these phones really get used becuase a little kid is actually in trouble? These phones are used to text during class and other useless unproductive things. Kids dont understand now-a-days what the hell life would be like without cellphones and cool new gadgets that use to be used primarily by adults.

if 11 year olds don't have cell phones how can they buy/sell drugs? People don't use beepers anymore. Sweet Jesus on rollerskates people, you need to think before you start knocking the younger generation.

See that's the other great part, is when you knock out an 11 year old to gank his phone, there's an even chance you'll score some meth, too.

And when I was a boy, we walked to school! Uphill, in the snow!

And I grew up in Southern California, but god dammit my parents trucked that ****in' snow down from the mountains, and made me walk uphill in it, until I was good and ****in' frostbitten!

Dude I'm only 26, cellphones just started getting big when I was younger, teens at my school were already getting cellphones their freshmen year, I thought it was stupid back then, I think it's stupid now. I'm not some old geezer who doesn't understand technology, I'm a 26 year old with an Iphone, PS3, Wii, Laptop, etc... I love technology, but I actually use these devices for more than just texting my friend all day long.

I got a g1 and that's pretty much all I do with it. (texting)

Well, that and surf the web.
