I said decent. Get that Insignia and LG trash out of my face. I heard Vizio has improved, though.

EDIT: And Sharp. Urgh, sickening.

What up with the LG hate... Samsung and Vizio make pretty great TVs, not cheap though.

LG products suck ass. Samsung is my go-to for TVs. Vizio used to be hot garbage, but I've heard they improved a lot over the years.

They are definitely alot more affordable today. A few months ago I saw a 50 inch Samsung Smart 4KTV for about $650 which is about what my comparable 1080P 3D cost on Black Friday 2013. Samsung is high end. They are not that expensive anymore and should be even lower by next year when these consoles roll out

bc MS is deceptive with their wording. Theres a difference between a game being rendered in 4K and a game being rendered in 1080p and uprezed to output to 4K. The Scorpio is likely the latter bc PCs struggle with true 4k gaming. Its the same thing with the XB1 now. All games output at 1080p but by and large most of them arent rendered in 1080p. Most are 900P and in rare cases, actually 720P. Its what the Scorpio will likely be

Makes sense.

I only do Samsung but Im a TV snob. Im more than willing to pay the premium on them

Haha. LG are much better than they used to be (even Samsung weren't that hot if you go back far enough). They were the only ones doing OLED for a while which is a great TV technology.

I used to be only Sony but my last 5 TVs have been Samsung, except the one I got last month (which is back to a Sony). All off topic so I'll quit here but I would throw in that Sony are awesome on projectors too.

so, will the Neo be the same?

render games at 1080p and then upscale to 4K instead true native 4k gaming?

^thanks.

and what about the NX? do the rumors point to anything about the NX and 4K gaming or upscaling to 4K?

I haven't been following the NX as much.

There's not really any solid rumors about NX. The only has been the VR one, but that also stated that the NX would also be mobile focused as well as being traditional gaming focused, so yeah, take that for what it is. Which sounds like a bunch of crap. Lid is very tight on the NX stuff.

If the NX is at least as powerful as the standard X1 they would be in a position to try and get multiplats back onside right?

It's possible, but very tricky, since a lot of people within that ecosystem has already gotten either a PS4 or Xbox One. Of course, the game is changing a lot with Neo/Scorpio, so the generation of console is going to be extended, I think, maybe even gone all together.

That is, assuming, that Nintendo is going to compete in that ecosystem. I've said before, and I really believe, that the NX will not be a traditional console/media hub in the same way the PS4 and Xbox One is. I have nothing solid to base this one, but I have that gut feeling based on how Nintendo has behaved lately. I think NX will be a much different thing than what Sony and MS are doing, so I'm not convinced they're aiming for the same audiences

Some, maybe. I just don't see Nintendo playing ball with EA's demands. I think Nintendo is still fairly friendly with Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, and Capcom. I just have a doubt that they can get back the Western third parties.

well the only thing the new president of Nintendo japan and overall boss said and I did put that up was that the Nx offers a new way to play games .

I think with what Rggie said it's that too many people are bothering him about power of the new upcoming system(if it is that ) cause most of the fans are obsessing with it(power) for now are in the west and are sending mail of we want more power. Reggie's not helping make the new system the guy's in japan are making the NX.

right now this has become a measuring contest and if Nintendo does play catch up they will be stuck in a upgrade war where all three systems will be putting out newer versions of the same system's with in each month instead of a year.

which more versions of the slim or lite with sony and MS and nintendo with what ever name they will have to come up with and that may seem exhausting to the latter.

and especially trying to convince they share holders and then the fan's onthe opposite side that just bought the current system that will be fed up that another version of the system was more powerful then the thing they bought and will have to get that one and curse them for it.

Now the only other way for Nintendo to do that is to let ms and sony come out with they're systems first from now on which is with what the scorpio and what ever planned with the neo and then study those systems and make a more powerful home consoles something on par with a pc / entertaimnet systems since that where the other two are going no matter what .

but right now nintendo is in the mind set of we're doing our own thing.

and the other might be headed for possible collaps there too,

yeah it's possible to do the we're doing our own thing and still make a powerful console . but I'm certain they just don't want be to brought into the We'll make new version of the same console with in year or a few months and have different set's people get on their backs.

they have lot of work to do like get other people that make games for them beside their own in house . and they want to have quality of the games to be good in all of them .

I don't think Nintendo even cares about getting the same games as MS and Sony anymore.

They want 3. party but are more interested in exclusive original 3. party content.

It's kinda wierd, were less than a year until the NX supposedly launches next March yet we know next to nothing about it.

The best kept secret of the gaming industry so it seems. :oldrazz:

Which was considered more powerful than the PS2, but specs don't matter brand recognition does and Nintendo has it in spades for better or worse (the Wii both hurt and helped them).

Yeah Nintendo makes some really great games, just their consoles i'm kinda iffy with.

Nintendo needs to do more than the wash-rinse-repeat cycle of the last two consoles. Which is seemingly their standard "make sure we have a"checklist. Smash Bros check, Mario game check, Zelda game check, Mario Kart check, Mario Party check, etc. . I would love to see a fresh IP for a change. Instead of coming up with an idea for a new IP only to scrap it and build it around their mascots like they usually do. Is it a lack of confidence from the company?

1st party games are great and all but it's going to need support to sustain those droughts in-between titles. I would love to see series like Wave Race, F-Zero, Excitebike(proper) and 1080 that haven't been done to death return.

Spaltoon, Pushmo, Crashmo, Strecthmo, Codename: STEAM, Steeldriver, and Art Academy are all new IPs that Nintendo launched within the timeframe of the Wii U and 3DS that had no connection to Nintendo's established characters (some people may lump Push, Crash, and Strecth into one IP, but technically they are not as they all play very differently). Splatoon has been one of the highest selling games of the Wii U, above several of their established IP games, and was a full retail title release. Nintendo actually launches a lot of new IPs per console generation.

really hope the NX is BC with Wii U titles ( and all those Virtual Console titles ) because there are some Wii U games I'd like to play, along with the classic NES and SNES games through VC.
