Well, I'll wait and see. The more I think about it the more excited I get. If it's around 200.. or 249.. That'll be even better.
It's not "basically" a handheld. It is a hybrid of the two that's their selling point and what they will push. It's both. That's why again they won't just make it 250, that's what the 3DS was and it was just a hand held. Even this sounds more powerful (in terms of previous Nintendo handhelds). The docking station, the controllers that come with it, it will be more than $250. Again it will probably be around $350.
true. Definitely will NOT be $200. One thing to consider is how they will package this. I could see a standalone handheld for $250 with a bundle that includes the controller attachment and docking station for $350

What would be the point of the "other" controls then? The ones you plug into the handheld? From what I read, this sounds less like a hybrid to me, and more just like a handheld that has a HDMI port. I realize a lot of people say those things as their one and the same, but I always looked as a hybrid as a system that was specifically designed to be both a portable and home console device. Slapping a HDMI port on a handheld doesn't necessarily make it a home console replacement either.
I'm going to wait and see how Nintendo actually promote this before calling it a "hybrid." If this is Nintendo's only piece of hardware, it definitely makes me worry, though.
And that is a bad selling point.Like the touch with the Wii U and the motion control with the Wii that will be their selling point. That it is both a home console and portable. That will be the crux of their marketing.
Guys...I more & more think the NX is to the WiiU as Scorpion is to XB1/Neo to PS4.

Nintendo has done the opposite. They have gone on record as saying the NX is not a successor/replacement for the Wii UI said this a few weeks ago...my fears turn out to be true in many ways. This news is disappointing to me...no matter how anyone spin it. This is just a "reverse version" of the WiiU. That's why it is not a true successor or replacement...as Nintendo likes to reiterate time & time again.
This thing doesnt merely connect via HDMI port on the handheld. There is a docking station and controllers, which comprise of the home console portion. If thats not a hybrid, I dont know what you really expected. For all intents and purposes, it sounds like a Wii U, you can take on the go. Theres speculation that the docking station will provide additional processing power. A handheld does not need to output 4K or even 1080p resolution but a seperate unit to handle that for display on HDTVs makes sense and could be what the "home console" portion of it would provide. People can look at it as a really powerful handheld or underpowered home console. NINTENDO PRESIDENT: NX IS NOT THE SUCCESSOR "TO THE WII U NOR TO THE 3DS"
