Obi Wan Kenobi General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

Something looked familiar

I shouted: mythos Obi-Wan! when i saw his attire :hehe:

I still think she's a super talented director and I hope she directs more Star Wars related episodes in the future, but it's obvious now that she just isn't experienced enough to be a showrunner, especially when she also has the responsibility not to mention the insane amount of pressure of directing every episode in the show.

Unfortunately, in the end I just think it was all too much for her to handle.

I just feel sorry for Deborah Chow. Member Berries aside, this show felt so incredibly hallow.

It has nothing to say of substance that wasn't already mentioned in Revenge of the Sith.
It has TONS to say. We essentially got Episode 3.5. We got to see Vader in his Imperial prime, with Palpatine still firmly holding his leash. The Jedi struggling to survive. The Rebellion slowly coming together. We got to spend time with the twins and their awesome adoptive parents. And most importantly, we got to see Obi-Wan learn of his apprentice's horrible fate after Mustafar along with the rematch. Lots of substance. Lots.

I'm sure Deborah Chow is feeling awesome right now as talks of Season 2 intensify.

So... nothing new to say. got it.
If that's legit what you were thinking as Obi-Wan broke into tears when seeing what he did to his best friend all those years ago when that mask shattered, if ALL that came to your head was "Nothing new here." then I honestly don't get why you didn't just turn off the episode right there and then and moved onto to some Disney Plus Marvel or whatever you think qualifies as something worth your while.

I don't get how anyone got past Episode 2 only to continue complaining about how pointless or unoriginal this show was. If the entire basis for this series is irrelevant or pointless or of no substance why watch the whole thing? Why dedicate 6 hours to a pointless endeavor?

There's no good answer.

For a moment I thought Kenbobi might take Reva on as padawan.

Whatever leaked ends up mostly false as a way to throw viewers off.

As for a second season I would like to see:

1) Force flashbacks of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's time as Master and Apprentice. More of Obi-Wan and
Anakin in Episode 2 and 3 era.

2) Adapting the comics storyline where Darth Vader meets the handmaidens of Padme.

3) Leia taking a trip to Naboo to learn about her mother and meeting her side of the family and handmaidens.

I would not recommend adapting the Vader and Handmaiden story, as it is pretty intrinsically linked to the OT and Vader knowing about Luke. Getting more Leia is great, and I am always down for Sabe showing up, but I am not exactly fond of the idea of Leia learning about her heritage before the movies.

Finished the finale and overall really enjoyed the show. I thought it started out a bit iffy but from Episode 3 onwards it really found its feet and got better and better with a really good finale with some emotion behind it too.

Bring on season 2 but no more Luke and Leia for me. Have it be the Inquisitors hunting Reeva and she calls Kenobi for help and it’s whoever gets to her first.

Still haven't watched this. I've been enjoying my time away from Disney+ shows and watched a bunch of great series lately away from franchise material. Now it has all concluded, I don't think I will. I get the impression that I won't enjoy it much, which is a shame because I like Ewan McGregor. I'm glad he got a better chance to act after the PT, but that is about the only thing that sounds appealing. I shall return to SW for The Acolyte, I hope Leslie Headland pulls it off.

Just an old video of George talking about the chosen one.

For me the finale was like The Dark Knight Rises, I know it's dumb but I love it :o

There's a difference between showing us something we already know happened, and having something to say.
