do you think it would've been better if Ratner & singer had just stayed where they were? (Ratner on Superman & Singer on X-Men)

I haven't seen Superman Returns yet. I'm going this weekend, but I didn't have a problem with Ratner directing X-Men 3. He had the same directing style as Singer did on the movies. I just think the writing was rushed a little and could have been the best of the series if they would have slowed down and put more "meat" in the storyline. Plus it would help if that moron running FOX wasn't in charge.

I ask b/c so many posters seem ready to tar & feather both of them.

I want to say yes because I would have loved to see what Singer would have done in X3, but I fear for what Superman would have been with Ratner at the helm. :(

Supposedly his biggest issue was w/casting.

He'd probably have gone with a bigger name for Superman, probably Brendan Fraser.
Doubt that he would have been able to get Spacey for Luthor. :o

I read that one of the main factors that drew Spacey to the role was working w/Bryan again. So maybe not.

But Spacey did atleast talk to Tim Burton back in 1997.
