Offical Restricted Footage Thread

What really? You liked his script?I'm sorry I can't believe that,he had to be high to write that piece of **** of a script.I'm mean give me a ****ing break, that ****e ****ed up once and he was working on doing it twice. And I agree with you the Punisher can be done in a realistic way.But so could SINCITY,THE SPRIT,WATCHMEN and 300 etc.The director's decided to make them just like the comics and I don't see anything wrong with that:)So that's what Lexi is doing with PWZ to make more like the MAX and classic Punisher comics.

No I said it had problems, but the core of the story was on the right track. **** the opening just blows away the ******edness that's in the Alexander draft.

The Spirit looks nothing like it's comic version, it's Sin City in color and Watchmen is balancing the comic book with realism.

And looking through the comics, like I've said many times, they aren't yellow.

The Punisher is also balancing comic book with realism too.Don't forget in Lexi's draft, the Punisher gets hurt pretty bad in some parts.

Well, considering the people Hensleigh has worked with, The Punisher was a complete 360 from his other movies. He shot it like it was a film in the '70s; no flashy camera/editing tricks or slow motion. The movie relied on good shot composition and good performances, the script just needed a better budget.

But thinking about, The Punisher is going always going to be a bit cliched with the films. The 2004 film had it's cliched moments, War Zone is sure as hell goig to have plenty of them too. But Jane, God bless him tried his damnedest to get a script that wasn't cliched. Though I think if Stuart Beattie had stayed on and wrote a complete script, and they got Walter Hill to shoot it, that would have been ideal.

As for emotion in the '04, I don't know I think it's pretty gut wrenching when he sees the lifeless bodies of his wife and son. Their was a lot of emotion on his face while he was clutching them.

After that the film takes a depressing tone, which I think a Punisher movie should have.

i liked tom jane. he actually made me like that film despite all its flaws. the scene on the dock is gut wrenching, but i feel like they cheapened it by adding his whole family to the mix... and then they focus on the wife and kid at the end anyway. killing his whole family was pointless. you like to talk about warzone butchering max characters, 04 butchered frank's origin. **** florida. and rebecca romajin as joan? rrrright. the movie did have a depressing tone, but that's another thing about hensleigh, i thought the movie went in too my directions. and wtf was with bumpo dancing around and totally taking us out of the russian fight? attempt at ironic contrast/humor failed. made the whole thing kinda anti-climatic, much like the rest of the film except like the first and last 15 minutes.

I 100% agree with you:yay::unishr:

Not so much butchering, but wasting. They do nothing interesting with Pittsy, Ink or Maginity.

Yeah, he did try to adhere too close to Ennis' dark comedy aspects, the dark comedy does works in a couple of spots, but there should have been less of it.

And I would have liked the origin to have been more like the comic, but it still works for me. A new medium, a new take, same result of a man who loses it all in life.

I agree real fans and new ones is going to see this film:yay:

Sorry but because I AM a fan I don't want to pay to see this because I'm tired of seeing the stuff I like getting turned into total crap. Me personally I would rather spend the 10 bucks on a box of ammo and go target shooting. At least I would get my ten dollars worth. I am not saying I am a bigger fan of the Punisher than any of you, but just because I don't want to pay to see this in theaters does not make me any less of a fan then the rest of you. Just my ten cents worth...

Damn that music video got me pumped for this movie
can't wait

I couldn't agree with you more. Just because I don't like what I am seeing doesn't mean I am a fan. If anything it makes us more of a fan because we aren't going to be spoon fed any old crap with a Punisher name. So if not liking what we have seen so far makes us less of a fan, then we are all guilty of it, unless people hear actually like Fraction's Punisher War Journal and Zombisher?!

But I will plant my ass in the seat opening weekend to see it. I'm always into seeing a good train wreck happen.

Don't think I haven't forgotten your little thread where you 180'd and admitted you were excited for this... :cwink:

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? I never said that. ;)

I don't think excited is the word. I have my hopes up a little after reading the script and hoping certain aspects were changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of reviews started popping up online around October.

Thanks BD:)Yeah Kable we didn't forget buddy:yay::cwink:and yeah they did change a little bit like Jigsaw's death,The table massacre scene etc.

Not really, the death may or may not have been changed and wasn't revealed how. And the table massacre has been in every trailer.

Spoilers tags should be used on important plot elements, those aren't big deals really.

I'd say [blackout]Jigsaw's death[/blackout] is a pretty big friggin spoiler; even if it's not specific.

See? It's pretty easy to use tags! And considerate!

Not really, nothing is implied on the way he dies, just that it may have been changed. You really didn't expect Jigsaw to live at the end of the movie did you?

Actually, I wasn't sure what they'd do. But now I am, thanks to you guys. :oldrazz:

wow, here we go with the spoilers agayne... :hehe:

totally uncool.

Yeah guys, no need to assume that everyone knows what's going to happen. It's probably a lot more apparent who is going to die/live when you've read the script.

HUGE SPOILER ALERT: Through out the movie, the Punisher kills bad guys.

Don't watch the red band clip anymore, he like totally kills everyone in that.
