If the Rangers are on welfare, then the Yankees are a bunch of spoiled brats that never worked a day in their lives and then inherited a fortune from their gasbag father.

The Mets are hosting the 2013 All-Star Game. MLB was probably dying to have it in a big market since the Royals are hosting in 2012.

I look forward to the most boring Home Run Derby in history. Even though it's incredibly boring already.

I want to see a Home Run Derby in Oakland. Would be fun to see how many just barely get over the wall

Enjoy.

In all seriousness, who the hell do you expect them to acquire at this point? It's not like Pettite is actually up to them. Kevin Millwood? John Maine?

I think SOMETHING would be better than nothing. Our lineup is pathetic.

1. Sabatha - The ace.
2. Burnett - A head case who has spurts of brilliance when he's not being awful.
3. Hughes - Great potential, but not a sure thing.
4. Nova? Mitre?
5. Pettitte?

It's an awful lineup. Our bullpen looks great, but we need guys who can carry us there. As it is, I don't see us having a better than winning season.

Yeesh. With that rotation I doubt they'll make the playoffs. Sure they have a great Offense, but still! Then again, the Yankees could probably trade for an ace or three

The Yankees haven't always been poor.

When you say lineup do you mean the offense? The starting rotation is not a lineup. Well, it's not called a lineup in any case.

I concur. Their rotation is absurdly weak for a team with that high of a payroll. However, the point is that there really isn't anyone left to acquire that could make a difference. That's why they were willing to go so high for Cliff Lee. There aren't any Aces left that are available to trade Montero for and the remaining free agents are filler (which Nova and Mitre already are). The only thing really left for them to do is wait for Pettite, not like they haven't done that long enough already.

Derek Jeter is a great hitter in the Yankee rotation

CC is a winning pitcher in the Yankee lineup

What can you say? It was a stupid trade then and it's a stupid trade today. The rest of that article was pretty weak though. Four paragraphs to tell us that Bobby Abreu is boring? Torii Hunter may make a lot of money but he's actually more than earned it so far with his increased offensive production. Matthews was Matthews.

The best Baseball writer in the business is more than capable of writing bad articles. He even got Abreu's contract wrong. Twice.

My team bailed you out of that one, too.

Wow, I can't believe Matthews Jr was the Mets' starting CF last year.

Matthews had one good game, opening day, and was beyond awful after that. Angels still got the better end of the deal.

I didn't say it was his best article but if you read him consistently, you will know of his superior skills.

I really think you take it glass half-full with writers through. No one can ever win with you.

By that same token, according to you, the man can do no wrong. You've posted several of his articles and if I find any fault with them, you just tell me not to "hate on the Poz."

He's a good writer. Sometimes he overindulges on points he comes up with (hence the four full paragraphs on Abreu being boring). He might actually be the best writer in the business, but that could be because most of them are Buster Olney.

Nothing wrong with criticism, I just don't want you to dislike him:csad:

How did he get Abreu's contract wrong? Did he not sign for like 2 years/19 million?

I don't dislike him necessarily, but I don't really see why everybody RAVES about him.

How did he get Abreu's contract wrong? Did he not sign for like 2 years/19 million?

First he said 2 years/19 million, which he then crossed out and fixed to 1 year/9 million with a 9 million option for next year that the Angels will buy out for 1 million. Except that is also wrong since it's a vesting option that will almost certainly kick in unless Abreu is injured or benched.

Maybe it's a little thing to pick on, but since he took the time to correct his first mistake, you'd think he would get it right the second.
