There appears to be two of them now. :D

Yeah, that threw me off for a second. This issue nearly made my head explode. It's a definite WTF issue.

Haha. I loved this page. Wolverine's back, baby! :woot:

Whedon actually has me wanting to see Wolverine kick some ass. Kinda makes you realize just how effective Wolverine can be when he's not around all the time.

I love the change in focus. I wonder if it was computer generated.

More than likely.

These Wolverine scans are getting my hopes up :wow::up:

OK to all the fans of the character who we just saw return in the coolest of fashion you are all right. The anitmated series and the film and in a way Morrison hid the characters true potential but seriously I knew Weadon had something planned. There are really no weak characters in his work the all grow strong evelove etc. Loved it.

people shouldnt complain about the art, most of you dont even know what its like to be under that pressure, art isnt something thats always the same or always at will, i know i have my bad days where anything i try looks like crap, on the emma topics, yea shes not going anywhere, why do you think theres 2? obviously its the only way to have an evil emma, so that we can still have an emma afterwards

Regarding the artwork, we're talking about people who are at the top of their trade. Everyone in that position within any field is subject to similar levels of pressure. I don't personally think the art is bad, it's just not as good as it could be, especially relative to some of the other work out there at the moment. Most of their competitors will be operating under similar comditions. :yay:

I have no complaints about Cassaday's art. There are much worse people who could be drawing this book. Michael Turner, for example (unless you like the prospect of Kitty & Emma having unusually long torsos and way too much eye shadow).

I have a theory on Perfection.
What are the chances that she is to Emma what Nova is to Xavier?
Umm.. i dont really see her as a Mumadri. Theyre meant to take on the complete opposite of a person. Perfection seems more like a younger differently motivated version of Emma rather than her oposite.

So does anyone else think Joss has some sway with the artist?

ROFL Coincidence i think not.

woa woa woa... We're not talking about Cyclops here are we? Morrisons done, arguably, more work to develop Scott and bring out his potential than anyother writer in X-history.
Whedons done sod all with him. Sure the last panel with him may have been entertaining, and each persons had some great character moments over the course of Astonishing, but noones reeally changed or developed at all. Even Scott +Emmas changes over this past Arc arent permanant (can gaurantee it). Whedons played it safe. The title of the book might aswell have been called Kitty the Vampire Slayer featuring some X-Men.

This story was interesting. Shame on me for thinking i could predict the outcome:wow:

I hope he chugs that beer in the next issue. It'd be good ass-kicking fuel.

Um... hello? "Danger"? Scott? Charles? Father-son relationship shattered? Will probably never trust another person in his life? Further fueled by Emma forcing Scott to confront all of his insecurities in issue #14?

I think it's safe to say the Morrison gave Scott enough forward momentum in order to allow Whedon to do things with him. But I think one needs only to look at issue 14 to see that Scott has gotten a significant amount of development in this run.

i think Brubaker gets some credit on that shattered relationship as well

Definitely... he busted it beyond all repair.

When does Deadly Genesis fall in the Astonishing timeline anyway? Sometime after Danger?

Ah, the Astonishing X-Men timeline debate.

I think it goes: "Dangerous" -- "House of M" "Deadly Genesis" "Civil War" -- "Torn"

That would make sense, given that they've never even remotely made mention of the 198 in Astonishing.

yea i totally agree and understand that there are other artists under the same pressure, of course, but all artists are different. I personally also agree that his art doesnt suck now, it was just really good at the begining of the book, but you have to keep in mind that art isnt always going to be consistent. All im saying, is that i dont think anyone should complain, i mean if you get that artist from new x-men, who did a few issues, then you should complain.

(im not talking about frank quitely, i love his art, people who read NXM should know what im talking about)

Ah, yes, Igor Kordey. His run on New X-Men was dreadful, but cut him some slack: he was drawing about five books a month at that time, and didn't miss a single deadline, whereas Cassady can't scrape the one monthly book he's been assigned half the time.

I believe that Torn takes place before Civil War, presumably before Deadly Genesis even, and directly after House of M. See, Torn can't be too far removed from M-Day or Wolverine's issue 13 danger room orientation would make no sense. It must have been recent. From that assumption, we just look at the events of Torn and gauge about how long they take-- and that's about a day-- a very long, sucky day for the X-men. I think Torn takes place before Deadly Genesis though because in Kitty's Dream, Professor X is still in a wheel chair. Presumably Perfection would at least know Prof X (post Deadly Genesis) can walk if she paid any attention at all. Unstopable will probably also take place right after Torn as in Civil War Scott has is visor back on. [BLACKOUT]Looks like Emma/Scott is here to stay.[/BLACKOUT]

I'm not sure where the timeline fits in.. I think the end of this issue and possibly also Unstoppable will show where it fits in.

More than ever though, I'm wondering what is going on with Cyclops' powers. Sure, I was wondering when he went into the coma thing, but seeing the cover to Unstoppable, and him not using them when he showed up.... I'm just wondering what's going on with them now is all. Does he have them? Did emma turn them off completely? Did she give him control? What's the deal?

Yeah, maintaining consistently high standards must be difficult with all these deadlines the guys have to stick to, but that's what they get paid for and many people would kill (me included) to be in their position :woot:

Sorry to say that I'm not a fan of either Quitely or Kordey (if you were talking about him) though. :(
