he's not gonna be able to control his powers. we've seen preveiws to books like pheonix - warsong and he's clearly wearing his glasses. too bad though, it would've been cool otherwise.

I have wanted to see Cyke be able to control his power so bad ever since X-Men Evolution. Cyke and his brother had their powers amped up and he did not need the visor to control his optic blasts.

Then let's have more speculation on what he's going to do when he snaps out of his stupor. Maybe Kitty won't beat the Hellfire Club by herself. Maybe Scott will make the final play, like Optimus Prime in Transformers the Movie. Maybe he'll kick out the Sentinal Squad and lead the mutants to some Promised Land.

well i personally hate the fact that the Sentinels are living with them at this point. After you know that they're going to kill your family and most other mutants in the future (and past) to me it seems a little weird living with murderers. And I don't trust Val Cooper for a second.

Whatever happens as a result of Emma's tampering I hope he does gain control of his powers and finally kick Emma to the curb. I like her as a villian best but she doesn't need to be Queen of mean soul sucker like Selene -Emma's always been interesting because her goals are not 100 per cent evil she just sees situations differently and goes about accomplishing goals in non-ethical ways. Her conflict with morals and ethics is what's interesting she's boring as a goodygoody and as stone cold b*tch. I liked to see how she was depicted when mentoring the Hellions (what happened with them?) these were a totally different not squeaky clean group of kids than most x recruits and needed someone like her .

In a lot of ways Jean (when she's not nuts being phoenix) represents Prof. X and Emma is way more Magneto in her approach. I think whoever Cyclops( taking into consideration who he is and what he symbolizes) chooses and why will be a very significant commentary on which route in the fight for survival & peace is best.

Whedon seems to imply that the wild side of Jean is what Cyclops was into in the first place because he's so repressed. i think honestly Scott has some growing up to do..instead of accusing Jean of their relationship being fake why doesn't he come clean about what he really wants in a relationship and who he wants to be (whcich is obviously Logan) so that she can fully be herself with him. That's not her fault- it's his and kudos to Emma for pointing that out~!

It looks like they might turn Emma back into a villain.

Emma won't be made into a villain. Just looking at the first preview pages for Phoenix: Warsong confirms she's still in the mansion and in Cyke's bed (assuming they don't set the Warsong story before the events happening in Astonishing right now). In my opinion she's the closest Marvel has gotten to making a female equivalent to Wolverine.

I love the way Joss has written Cyclops. Hes been my favourite X-Men character since the start and im sick of him being the ***** of the team in the movies.

If you read an article over at IGN, the creator of warsong said that it takes place before this latest event in Astonishing x-men. He said that it is that becuse of obvious reasons....

I find it hard to beleive that when Cyke snaps out of this and realizes how badly Emma has mind f**ked him, that he's not going to do something about it. He was pissed that she made him into Wolverine for just that short moment, he's not going to take it lightly. If he does, than he's a bigger wimp than usual. I'd much rather see him rip her a new one. Jean would never have screwed around with him like that.

I think that that person under the robe is Jean Grey..well sorta. The new Hellfire is just in Emmas mind. Someone is messing with her. All the persons in the new brotherhood is persons who have played a big part of emmas life and tragedy. Thats why beast couldnt smell cassandra. He smelled Emma. Someone is messing with her.

Everyone is saying that because Beast smelt Emma it must be her but Cassandra is a majorly powerful telepath so she could just be messing with his senses. She may have fooled Beast in order to create a false sense of security and secretly ambush him.

I don't think Scott has any desire to be Logan, and I don't think Joss would do that either. If Scott wants to be Logan, why should he even be in the comic? Scott wants to be Scott, but he has self-doubt. Jean at her best moments brings out the best in Scott. Unfortunately, she can be, well. . .uhm, fickle. Also, we know Jean doesn't want Logan, otherwise she would have chosen him over Scott. If she thinks Scott wants to be Logan, why not be with the real deal? Emma thinks she understands Scott because she can exploit his self-doubt, but she really has no clue.

About Scott being able to control his optic blast, well man that's like messing with the bible. You cant change that! That's Marvel's way of life dudes. I dont think the writers would mess with what previous writers and artist have worked so hard on. That's like making The Thing human with super strength, whats the fun in that?

Although I agree with some of your sentiments, I don't think Emma will become a bad guy again. She'll most likely do a last minute turn around on the hellfire club because she "loves Scott so much." We still see them in bed ---for the 101st time--in previews for Phoenix Warsong.
