I assume that Brand's line about wishing someone would prophesy the end of the Shi'Ar is a reference to the current storyline in Uncanny.

Wow, I would say this was the best issue easily in a while.

Loved that the only thing that could snap Wolverine back to his senses was beer, a man after my own heart. Cyclops coming back in at the end was awesome, though why he used a gun and not his optic blasts is weird. Maybe Emma shut them off period?? So was that Larva thing the Shi'ar alien that Nova's mind was trapped in at the end of the Imperial arc, or Cassandras body in Larva form?

So is it the real Emma that cylops shoots in the end of issue 17 or the other one?

Ha!

Told ya'll that you were calling it too soon when you said that it was all in Emma's head!

Anyway, so apparently what is in the manger is the alien thing that was with the Shi'ar the last time they were on earth that Xavier tricked Cassadra into transferring her mind into, which trapped her in it permanently. Still have no idea what's going on with this second Emma, but they're definitely no psychic projections, save Cassandra, but that is of her own doing, NOT Emma's.

Wolverine's lines were still funny. "I could clearly see the silhouette of her undercurve." (I'm almost surprised they got away with that one.) "No more of that heathen funny talk." And it was absolutely hilarious that it was a beer can to the head that knocked him back to his senses.

So Lockheed is the mole. Don't know what to make of that right now. Would certainly explain why he took so long to catch up to Kitty in the first issue, though.

And that last shot with Scott was pure badass. No one can say that Whedon is treating him like a punk like most other authors have recently.

Yeah, I guess "Emma is insane" isn't a valid theory anymore, in which case I throw in the towel. Yet again, Whedon has completely stumped me. Can't wait for the next issue.

ok ok.. eating humble pie about thinking the outcome of the story was far too predictable.
Though I did guess Lockheed was the mole. But OMG.. I think the whole Ernst/Cassandra thing is getting just as confusing as the whole Xorn/Magneto thing.

Ok, I'll be the first and maybe only person to be disappointed with this issue. The mole revelation? I'm also not a fan of stories that start out in such eleborate dream/telepathy sequences. Even the contents of the manger were a let down. This in combination with Civil Wart #4 made for one of the most anti-climactic weeks in my comic book history. :(

the "mole" reveal for me was disappointing too.
in hindsight it should've been obvious that it was lockheed b/c of the freaking kitty connection

next month we're going to find out that she's going to defeat the hellfire club due to her secondary mutation

it's also lame that colossus is getting shafted b/c he's "the girl" to her hero

How were the contents of the manger disappointing? It make sense and helps prove that [BLACKOUT]this isn't in Emma's head.[/BLACKOUT]

I never thought it was; hence the disappointment. I've never been into C.Nova so seeing what was in the manger made me go "Eh". I'm more looking forward to seeing Danger/Ord running into the Hellfire Club.

I knew Kitty Stand no chance against the Hellfire club!!!!....Cassadra Frost Mind games worked beautifully on kitty...Kitty Kicked ass last book....this book we get to see her cry for losing a child that only exist as an Illusion....the Bush league Physhic Emma coudn't take her down but...as Emma said last Issue "Cassandra Nova You haven't a pray against her"...and Cassandra made Quick work of Kitty..and twister her mind easily after she got what she needed from her....Cassandra Controllin every one was always at the back of my mind...seems like she is about to get her body back....
Lockheed.....Colossus....all connected to kitty...One is the Destroyer of the Break world and the other is The MOLE...Lockheed as the Mole is a joke...as of now.....and needs more explaination...but he did stop Ord last time...
But I would Love to see Lockheed Kick some ass!!!!!!
Wolverine Panels were Brilliant....Can hits his Head....and its time the Claws come out
and Cyclops...But wait where the Hell is his Visor!!!!...shoots Cassandra Frost....
Next Issue should be Wolverine,Cyclops, and Lockheed Kicking Ass!!!..Great Issue still...

omg omg omg omg omg omg cyclops omg omg omg omg omg omg

Is this your first time following comics online, because this is nothing new. They do this all the time. They ususally hold back on the cover image for a book because it usually contains something spoiler-y and revealing for the issues that come out before it.

Granted, 19 was fairly spoilery... what with the NXM-uniformed non-visor wearing Cyclops and all.

Yeah, but by then, we already had the issue out where Emma did whatever she did to him to shut his powers off or whatever. All the cover did was prove that it sticks, which wasn't a huge spoiler.
