that was an AMAZING issue!

Crazy how 2 people can have totally opposite opinions about the same topic :)

I'd just put down the issue at that point, so I was still riding high off [blackout]Cyclops pulling a gun and looking totally bad-ass.[/blackout]

I'd guessed at [blackout]Lockheed[/blackout] being the mole, but I thought that was a crazy wild guess, so I don't really know what to make of it now. I am fascinated by the [blackout]"nice" Emma is an impostor thing[/blackout] though. Because then, who is she? And the [blackout]Kitty fakeout[/blackout] was pretty great, imo.
Then the beer can thing was good for a laugh, but I have no idea what to make of the larvae either. Not what I was expecting. Is she inside it, or is she... it?

This latest issue was so awesome! After all this time we finally see who is really pulling the strings; it's a person who truly is worthy of being a mastermind! Everybody else are just her *****es, even Emma. Cyclops comes back to prove why he's the original team leader.

Very disappointing issue :( Who even cares that
Lockheed is the mole
and isn't
the White Queen supposed to be a RIDICULOUSLY powerful pyschic? How did she even let Scott sneak up on her?

Yes, this last one was a very dissapointing issue, even the art was weird sometimes. I centainly expected more of it.

And Lockheed being the mole seems too farfetched. Lockheed would never betray Kitty since they're pretty close to each other

Mole doesnt necessarily mean betray. Lockheed is an alien - not a mythical dragon. Stands to reason he might have connections to an Earth based alien relations security organisation.

Clever thing really - the contents of the box being "Stuff" from the Shiar Imperial Guard. Seems to be now that we know which Emma is real and which is a psychic clone of sorts, split from Emma by Nova with that "read the genetic code of any organism" thing she did to Trask's nephew. I'm going to go with this theory anyway, cos as out of continuity as this series may be, it's not so far out as to have leapt forward to being set further ahead than all the other books are right now where Emma is still swanning around.

The only real complaint I have about this issue is Scott on the last page wearing that bloody leather jacket from the Morrison days! He explained himself why the leather had to go, but this panel, and the upcoming issue with them racing forward on the cover has him in it. Bloody stupid, crap puffy jackets with their stupid, crap bloody stripey shirts underneath... rant rant rant... mrmmrmmr mrmmrm...

but... but... Ernst?

Maybe Martha put her back in the box when she was done with her...

the "mole" reveal for me was disappointing too.
in hindsight it should've been obvious that it was lockheed b/c of the freaking kitty connection

next month we're going to find out that she's going to defeat the hellfire club due to her secondary mutation

it's also lame that colossus is getting shafted b/c he's "the girl" to her hero
I think Colossus will be important to the next story arc. After all, he is destined to destroy Breakworld.

I must be one of the only ones that loved Morrison's run....but I think it's great that Whedon is actually acknowledging it like most of them don't.

I didn't care for the costumes though, but maybe this is his way of showing the tough Cyclops is back in black (leather). :D

Why exactly did the leather have to go? I didn't read New X-Men.

He said in the first arc of Astonishing that the leather was starting to scare people.

Yeah this was SUPPOSED to be the Mutant PR team and they were trying to show the world that the Xmen are heroes and not terrorists. M-Day kinda killed the point of all of that though. :csad:

I wasn't a big fan of Morrison's run, or Quitely's art, so I never really dug the leather uniforms.

I think you're right though, with the symbolism and whatnot... the leather jacket shot is tough. Way more than a guy in spandex with a gun.

Good issue, but is it just me or is the art gettin crappier. It seems like the first few issues were drawn good, but now hes just in a rush to get it finished. I'm starting to hate kitty's face. Kity Peter and Scott all have the same face.

No, it's not just you. The art is getting crappier, especially all the characters' faces. Prof. Xavier was really bad in this last issue and right now I just like Wolverine comic face and the non-white-queen Emma, she's always have a very distinctive face.

Yeah, I think that the Professor was drawn the most horribly out of everyone.

How is the Art Crappy now..Didn't people notice since February it was crappy???.....the first 12 arc looked great...but in february he started drawing everyone different........Ever notice that Colossus and Cyclops are like drawn the same way??

Yes, the art is getting crappier, exept for one panel of Kitty crying and the final panel with badass cyclops , YES!!, that was the best part, and the gun it looked like an actual gun with bullets, like in the real world, you know, with bullets, that actually kill people, not some fiction laser gun.

How can anyone say that the art in this is crap? It's miles above most of the other art out there.

Cassady is clearly rushing to keep this book on a schedule. Frankly, as much as I like his work, he's becoming less and less worthy of the bending over backwards that Marvel have been doing for him as far as AXM goes.
