Would it be wrong if I said that Kitty won't be returning with the X-team to Earth? (Therefore not everyone will be coming back). Maybe she will be staying with Lockheed in his homeworld? <-- just an idea. No deaths will happen ? I don't know ... just my guess..

I second that idea!Blindfold only said not all of the Xmen leaving for Breakworld would be back...that doesn't necessarily mean someone is going to die, does it?I think Kitty might stay behind!

But she also ain't freakin dead either. There's no way, with Whedon's professed love of Morrison's run, that her role in this story is over.

Well, honestly, there is only one issue left in this arc before it's over, and with as much as I'm sure that Whedon is going to cram into the last issue, I don't think Nova is going to be one of them. I think she would have at least needed to appear in this past issue to get any kind of real impact out of her. I think he's left it open for another writer to address her whereabouts, but I think he's done with her.

For the first time in God knows how long, Cyclops made this issue for me.

It's GREAT to see Scott being a true tactician and a true badass. Between the movies and the books, it's been ages since we've seen the real Scott! I'm going to miss Whedon sooooo much.

Oh, man, I went to my local bookstore and the issue WASN'T THERE!

Any good online stores where I can order it with free or reasonable shipping rates?

This is an emegency, thanks. :(

Ellis will get this book canceled. he is like kryptonite to x-titles

I agree. Scott is not a fave of mine, but I so enjoyed him in this. :D

www.mycomicshop.com or www.milehighcomics.com. Both are excellent.

Anyone else think that the overall plan of the X-Men this issue was fairly reminiscent of the second to last episode of Angel? Where they formulated a plan in his office while everyone else outside thought they were fighting/talking about something else?

I never thought of that until now but yeah you are right

Huh. Now there's a comparison. The torture scene also brought Firefly flashbacks. I almost expected Cyclops to say "You want to see the real me now?!".

Season 5 Angel DID pwn. Amen, my in-love-of-Cyclops-brother!

And Cyke used an Xavier quote, too. So now only is he Angel now, somehow having dethroned Petey from that birthright, but he's Xavier too.

Woot.

I couldn't wait till I got it so I read it online... and I have to admit... it was effing cool. I still don't like him though, but it was cool. Pity now the story is a bit too predictable, Aghane carved the "prophecy" in order to destroy her world and end the endless war it was consumed with. And also, it's bad to know we have Skrullossus there :(

Skrullossus is just Skrullossus. I'm sticking to this being the real Peter. If the peter in AXM were a skrull, then this whole series, plus this last arc would have been pointless. I like Bendis, but he would be stupid to pull a "The Peter who came back is a skrull" card. It in no way would make any sense. There was explained how Peter came back. Scott came back the same exact way.

Sorry, rant over.

Actually, the plan reminded me more of the season 7 episode of Buffy where (using Willow's magical telepathy) Buffy secretly orchestrated a plan with the other main characters, while everyone had an aloud discussion about something else.

Whedon's repeating himself big time, here. But I still loved this issue.

Look to Generation X, X-Force and X-Man....three books he took over during 'reloaded'...three books that are no longer with us....well X-force is coming back but you get my point..i think

Still have no freakin idea why they'd put him on the big profile "accessible for all" book. Just, the hell...?

They chose him of all people? :D

Yeah, I was reminded of that scene from Buffy too. But now that it's mentioned, I do see the similarity between Buffy's scene and Angel's scene, and this scene from AXM. If I'm not mistaken, they all took place in the 2nd to last "episode"(though Buffy's might have been revealed during the final episode, I can't remember).

I'm not sure if I will continue to read AXM after Joss' run.

skrullossus?

It's a reference to this:

A skrull appeared with Colossus and Cyke like powers. I seriously doubt it's the real Piotr.

The latest update on AXM # 24 is a 12/19/07 (yes, that's next month and yes, that's '07 and not '08) release date. I wonder the odds it'll hit that date. At this point, I'd say 50/50.

Whedon is a mainstream media heavy hitter and JQ has a tendancy to stroke his ego. I highly doubt they would retcon his work.

On top of that, fandom all round was pleased to have him back, so why change it:huh:

JQ is about sales, and that would be bad for sales.
