This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]355897[/split]
Agreed. It's been a cool battle sometimes, but I think that it's overused and the concept is just weird: A mere mortal with a lot of brains and gadgets vs...an alien who can lift the weight of a cruise ship. Why is it that we see Batman v. Superman battle often, but not Captain America v. Thor?
Because Captain America doesn't get written off as a paranoid maniac.
Yeah, Cap doesn't have files on countermeasures on his friends and s***, so it's pretty well understood that Thor would turn him into a red smear in about 3 seconds if they fought. The same should be understood of Superman vs. Batman, but Batman fans are crazy and some of them get to be comic writers and editors.
I really hope that the JLA origin is going to be better than it sounds right now
Also, no signs of giant starfish aliens so points off for that.
I hope so
It's the JLA's origin. They need to fight a giant evil starfish that wants to conquer the world. Otherwise its not a proper origin at all
I think all origins would benefit from this being apart of the story.
Spider-Man gets bitten by a radioactive spider, his uncle dies, boohoo. That's a ****** story. Now have him fight a giant starfish and it would've been timeless. Too bad they had to mess things up with a giant starfish free origin for Spider-Man.
And now Geoff Johns begins his quest to destroy comics by retconning a giant starfish out of the one truly great origin story in comics
Imagine how much better his origin would be if a giant starfish had been the one who shot his Uncle Ben
Go on just imagine it
I did. It was orgasmic.
It would be awesome if one giant starfish who happened to be kind of a jerk was accidentally responsible for the origin of every superhero ever.

It practically writes itself
DC need to publish a Secret Origins 80 page special that is about this
They can call it the Starro the Starfish Secret origins Special and it shall be fabulous
Remember when Batman was suspicious of Hal instead of Clark? That was fun 'cause it actually made sense. That doesn't mean you turn the world's greatest heroes into brawlers againts each other, but knowing Johns this is just Hal Jordan and Batman checking out is the Kryptonian a menace or not, since this is an origin story, but good grief if we're gonna also have Wodner Woman fight someone. <_>
I wonder if Hal being mind controlled by Parallax the unfriendly space cockroach will still be in continuity after the relaunch
Hal will be mind controlled by an unfriendly space Starfish........
