and the james jr. flashback is the most bizarrely unconvincing portrayal of human behavior I can remember seeing in a comic, on top of s***ting all over the black mirror

i kinda didnt care for this past issue of batwoman. its the first issue of that title that i can say that about. i hate it when characters solve dire situations with impossible technology. its such a boring cop out.

Gail Simone is the female Tony Daniels...

Gail Simone wrote one of the best DC series in the last 10 years with Secret Six and her work on Bane in particular is considered to be one of the best in the characters history.

Tony Daniel is an artist who had delusions of grandeur and somehow managed to get himself the position as writer of both Batman and Detective Comics where he constantly churned out mediocrity story after story.

So no Gail Simone and Tony Daniel aren't even in the same league.

Yeah as a WW fan I have to say her run was borderline terrible. Batgirl was so bad that I couldn't make it past issue 4 and usually I'm very tolerant when it comes to mediocre comic books.

I didn't even make it past issue 1.

how people can continue to read that book, much less think it's good, is far beyond me.

Wonder Woman is my biggest Simone-written disappointment because it started out so well. "The Circle" was great. Most of the rest... not so much.

But Secret Six was a lot of fun (although it could get a bit repetitive, what with everyone being in such a rush to betray everyone else). Birds of Prey was good for a long time back in the day, too. I think her Wildstorm series, Welcome to Tranquility, is actually the best thing she's ever written.

Yeah, Welcome to Tranquility was awesome.

Plus, there's much to be said about a 60 some odd issue run of awesome to damn good comics. She's no Tony Daniel. To be Tony Daniel she would have to have never written anything remotely good at all. That is most assuredly not the case. Enough with the hyperbole fellas.

Yeah equating Simone with Daniel as a writer is like equating Lee with Liefeld as artists. Sure Lee has been hit or miss but he's never been as downright terrible with anatomy, expressions and overall panel composition as his chum has been either.

I just don't get why they won't pair Daniel with a co-writer. From what I've seen his art which I already liked has only gotten better but his writing just keeps getting worse.
