Alright guys. I have to live vicariously through you all until I can get my comics on Friday (or Sunday if I'm unlucky).
So I'm curious to know, how was Batman this week?

Anyone else check out the digital download of Norm Breyfogle's Batman Beyond yet? Beautiful book. Great to have him back on the bat but i do wish it wasn't Terry McGuinness. I don't think I'll ever like him as a character.

Batman was pretty fab this week. We got to meet the Court of Owls who are a creepy bunch and it looks like Batman and the others are going to have a hard time taking them down judging from the cliffhanger

The Owls have an entire army of Talons in the labyrinth in those coffins :wow:

You could type his name in google if you wanna look at Breyfogle pics. It's a lot cheaper.

OK I have to say that I read that court of owls sequence like it was a musical sequence with the talon singing lead and the court as the chorus ("MORE MORE MORE!"). I don't know why but I just got this weird disney villain vibe from it all down to having an evil kid. I liked the book but that just felt odd that it read like that. Seemed very Dr. Seuss of Snyder there.

I did get that vibe.

When he said "My court! MY COURT!" it seemed very musically theatrical.

Also, Synder can go to hell; this story is so damn good, I want it to be over so I can know what the ending is. :o

well now I have to reread it to see about this musical thing.

Think of it as a like a Phantom of the Opera/Sweeney Todd type of thing.

yeah, I can see it. It's nothing I would've put together myself, but I can definitely see it now that it's been brought up. It's the repetitions.

I just read issues 5 and 6 back to back, what a mind ****, this story is brilliant. Issue 5 especially. I love the art on this book, just beautiful.

Yep after reading the last two issues I am so excited for the Night of the Owls story

Also
I think I've worked out how Freeze is connected to the Owls. The woman in thecwheelchair says that all the coffins contain Talons waiting to be woken. I think Freeze has helped the Owls keep their Talons in suspended animation so rather than having to constantly find and train new ones they can have hundreds on ice that they can wake up whenever they need them

Thanks Oberon :)

I hope I'm right because I think it would be a neat use of the character

I'm really excited to see how Snyder uses Freeze

that is a nice idea, and if true it won't be as forced as we imagined tbqh

I think it would make sense given his skill with that kind of technology
