So Gail Simone has said that there's going to be a transgender character in Batgirl

So happy about this news and I hope that he or she is going to be written well

I think its going to turn out to be Alyssia and thats what she wanted to tell Barbara back in issue four

I wouldn't hold my breath. Gail Simone also said that we'd see Cass and Steph in Batgirl and there hasn't even been the slightest mention of either. She's a good writer, but I trust her little.

And yes they are

I really hope that Simone is telling the truth. There's never been a transgender character in a mainstream superhero series unless you count Amazing Woman and it would be absolutely fab if there was as long as they're well written

And Simone has a long history of writing lgbt characters well so I have faith that she'll write this transgender character well

I read the dark knight this week

All the character development Bane went through in Secret Six and before that has vanished

He's now just a big muscle bound guy addicted to sterroids who hates Batman and wants to be evil because

...

Because of the reason?

This arc hasn't been terrible but I wish Bane had more depth and character

I didn't read Secret Six or other post-Knightfall Bane comics but i kind of allways imagined him as respecting Batman more than hating him.
How was he in secret six?

He had a code of honour and a deep respect for Bruce, all while still retaining his brutality.

He really had become a much deeper and more complex character so seeing him as a vicious thug screaming insults at Bruce just feels very out of character even if he is back on the venom

I really hope he gets off that stuff again and maybe regains some of the character depth he's lost

I did like the twist about the White Rabbit though
