It is curious how much of X-Men, X-2, TLS, WO and TW is still in continuity.

Hey, at least I'm not the one and only vote for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 anymore![]()
The Amazing Spiderman 2 gets a lot of criticism, and a lot of it is deserved. I really don´t think it was a very good movie. But one thing i can say: Neither TWS or DOFP put me on the edge of my sit like The Amazing Spider Man 2 did in the scene where Spiderman was fighting the GG and trying to save Gwen at the same time. That was awesome to watch.
In fairness I cant agree, I was on the edge of my seat a lot of times during TWS, DOFP and GOTG. TASM2 did do it at the end, but as a Spidey fan I knew what was coming. It would have been nice if the movie had tried to mask what was going to happen to Gwen, but right from the opening moments it was obvious she was going to die.

For me, it wasn't. The build up to the scene was awful, and once Gwen dies, the movie sort of stops. The fight between GG and Peter is short. It would have been 100 times better if they kept fighting after Gwen was dead. Also, Gwen's death ultimately leads to Peter moping for about 5 minutes of screen time and quickly getting over it. It just doesn't feel like it has a lasting impact, and the story all through out the film is just overall sloppy. Also, the web becoming a hand was super corny.

"I'm with you till the end of the line" had more heart than both ASM movies combined imo.
Yeah, for sure. The friendship between Captain America and a shockingly underdeveloped and forgetable character was very emotional...NOT.
BTW, GOTG´s humour was so dumb and juvenile that i was shocked that so many people loved it. People are truly content with mediocrity. For some reason, movies with cheesy one liners and characters acting as dumb as they can be are viewed as "great humour". I guess anything sounds funnier when is coming out of the mouth of a CB character, even if it´s the kind of easy and predictable humour you can find on internet forums on a daily basis. That´s the only explanation can find.
I miss comedies with some wit to it.

Those 5 minutes of moping were, in my opinion, very well constructed and more emotional than anything i saw in TWS or GOTG. The fight between GG and Peter is short, but more movies could learn from that. Even TASM2 itself. Long action scenes bore me to death. The last act in GOTG is basically just ships flying, things exploding, colorful lasers being shot all over the place, loud and lazy generic action and a big royal mess that goes on for i don´t know how long. Unfortunately, these words could be used to describe 90% of the CB movies. Generic action with no substance.
As far as the "lasting impact" goes, this is actually the only film in a long time starring Marvel characters that actually had any kind of impact on me. And that´s something, since i´m not a Marvel fan at all. They fail to make me feel anything every single time.

Wow! It's pretty clear you're here just to troll, isn't it?
Peter and Harry's 5 minutes of hanging out before he goes 100% insane. Now, THAT is rushed.
Different strokes for different folks. Life long fan of Spider-Man. That movie made me feel nothing but sadness for how bad Spider-Man films have become, and butchered one of Spider-Man's best stories. Say what you will about Steve's relationship with Bucky, I was 100% far more invested in that than Peter and Harry's 5 minutes of hanging out before he goes 100% insane. Now, THAT is rushed.
Easily more emotional than anything in the new Spider-Man films. That line gets me everytime.
More emotional than a bland cgi-cartoon like ASM2. Enjoy your 53% on Rotten Tomatoes though, champ.
They're crawling out of the woodwork these days.
I don't think there's a single moment of genuine tension in TASM 2.
I´m a TDK fanboy.
