I don't see what's wrong with "German soldiers" as something to call them. :oldrazz:
The pure fact that they weren't all German. Since Germany "invaded" Austria in 1938 and made them part of their country, a high percentage of the Wehrmacht was Austrian, not German. (A much higher percentage of the SS and the NSdAP-Leaders were Austrian too, but that's a completley different discussion)

I agree with Denny67. Chris Evans is showing his confidence in the roll by teasing about himself. I am really not sure how this comment can be misconstrued as a lack of confidence on his part. It all sounds really good to me. :yay:

I really didnt mind Jon Hamm for the role but I think Evans will do a good job.

More times than not it is a sign of confidence when a person is secure enough laugh at him/her self. The guy has a sense of humor. Nothing wrong with that at all. ;)

This.

Put it this way, stick me in a party were half the people are really up themselves and half have a self deprecitating sense of humour and I know who I'd choose to hang out with.

Nine times out of ten the ones who just bang on about themselves all the time saying how great they are dont get invited back.

so how do you guys feel about Chris not going blonde for the part???

Captain America had already been filming for a week when the Comic Con started. However, I believe I heard somewhere Chris (at that time) had not yet begun actual filming himself. Maybe I am wrong about this, or perhaps I misunderstood something. I know for sure he did costume testing on film by that time, and I believe it is the footage they showed of him at the Comic Con. However, I don't think at any time any of the footage showed him as Steve. Besides that, the only other footage I believe they showed for Captain America was of Hugo as Schmidt entering Odin's tomb and finding the Cosmic Cube. So, if I am correct, then it is still entirely possible that Chris may have Blonde hair as Steve Rogers. Either way though, this movies success will not depend on the color of his hair, but more importantly the story and portrayal of the characters.

Who...cares!? He wasn't blonde for Human Torch and that hardly caused the end of humanity :whatever:

Oh, don't you worry SKSpawn there was plenty of fanboy whining going on (regarding Johnny Storm not having blonde hair) back when the Fantastic Four hype was going strong. As for the blonde hair not causing the end of humanity. Well truth be told is that during the Fantastic Four Movie his hair color was used as a way to summon Galactus, which ultimately was aimed at ending humanity. So, you could be wrong about that, I'm just saying.:yay:

Why on earth would he not go blonde?
The idea was that he was the Aryan ideal, yet he opposed them on every front.

It's kind of a visual distinction for the character. Helps separate him from Batman and Superman and Iron-Man and every other freaking super hero who all seem to have black hair.

At least they don't try and make it work and then fail miserably like Colin Farrel's blonde locks in "Alexander".

I thought he had a brown/dirty blond look for his hair or was that some posters. and some recent set phots show him with blond hair

Well, 4 one, he doesn't have black hair, so in that sinse he would still stand out even if he didn't die it. and 2, the reason blonde stands out in the comics is because the majority of all super heroes r all drawn THE EXACT SAME! in real life it's allot easier to tell the differences of peoples faces, so that really doesn't matter.

but ya, I'm guessing theyed have to use a darker blonde for it to look any good on chris. i'm imagining him with super light hair and it don't look good on him. so if it turns out they don't die it it's prolly just cuz his natural hair is already similer to the shade of blonde that looks the best/most natural on him. ...i'm guessing.

He hadn't filmed yet during comicon so it is entirely possible he will be blond.

They could have written it into the script that the blonde hair is a by-product of the Super Soldier Serum. ;)

I don't know if him getting blonde hair as a result of the Super Soldier Serum would work well in this movie. My thoughts are that since blonde hair can relate to the Nazi's Aryan master race plans, if he was to recieve the blonde hair as a result of the Super Soldier Serum, it would be like saying the Nazi's were right that Caucasians are a superior race and we have quite litterally the perfect person (Captain America) to prove it. Now with Steve having blonde hair before the serum, he will be shown as imperfect with blonde hair which does not go along with the idea of the Ayran superior race idea. Then if he keeps it during his transformation into Captain America it would not be as noticable.

Just my thoughts.

I was only joking, Surfer >Not that it makes your points any less valid or anything<

I actually knew you were joking (hence your wink), but figured someone out there might think it sounded like a good idea. Therefore, I just thought I would point out why it would not be.:yay:
