Something old -

You know, without the skullcap this would be one of my favorite outfit for Scott.

Something bizzare and fun (if you have a wicked sense of humor) -

familytreeofSummersfamily.gif

With a right writer Scott's extended and bizzare family tree would be a very interesting plot for a dysfunctional family story, the best one in the fandom imo is xenokattz's Elemental.

And something hilarious -

Testimony to why people shouldn't try to wear comic-designed superhero costumes in RL, doesn't matter if they look good in the comics, because they generally don't in reality.
Had to give credits for these people to wear like that in group and take a picture though. (Smart for the guy who played Cyke to stand behind the crowd :woot:, less embarrassing imo)

Gambit and the fuchsia body armor FTW! :woot:

Though I'd have to say that, of the lot of them, Nightcrawler actually doesn't look that bad. Whoever did that costume did a pretty good job.

lol. Can't get over the fat female Wolverine or the fat Shadowcat beside him. Actually pretty much all the cosplay pics I see are of fatties. Plus Nimrod's package is priceless. :oldrazz:

Now I know how hard it is to be a superhero in tight outfits, going on a diet all the time is the only way to save you and your career.:woot:

Guys, there's (possible) someone new [blackout]to the Summers family, Ruby Summers, though I really think I would like Scott to have another son rather than another daughter. Girls are harder to raise these days, even if it's just in colmics.[/blackout]

Ps. I'm looking forward to Cyke giving the people beaten up on Pixie (I still don't like her though) some test of their own medicine, and like someone said, #501 has some good narration of Cyclops, not to mention the sex scene wasn't as bad as I originally have thought (after got over the shock of Land's art), and I got a little sentimental [blackout]with the scene of Scott trying to put the crib together and how he said the baby needs a crib and a room. Oh, and Emma is probably pregnant, I think, then here comes Ruby.:cwink: But hopefully there won't be a repeated plot like the one Scott had with Madelyne.[/blackout].

Ruby is the perfect name for a child whose mother can turn to diamond and whose father shoots red lasers from his eyes from behind a ruby quartz visor.

I would think that her name is more because of her ability to turn into a walking ruby, not because of her parents. I guess that's why Layla (? I'm not sure if it's her though, maybe it's the guy who was with her in the issue.) said the name couldn't happen to be just a coincidence.
And Scott doesn't shoot lasers from his eyes, they are concussive force.:cwink:

But Scott, you used to cramp into a mini van to do your hero stuff and now you have a fancy SR-71 instead, so you shouldn't be so surprised that villains adapt and change like your transportation does too. :cwink:

Wolvie's "puke in our visor" statement could be taken as a reply to Cyke's "God, I love you". Cyclops means Emma but as he's saying it out loud it's possible that Wolverine misunderstood. :woot:

Wolvie most likely figured it out.

He just had to say something for the principle. It's a guy thing.

While he's secretly ecstatic for a glorious one second before he realized Scott didn't say those words to him.

this is backtracking quite a bit but an IMDB post raised this question in my mind. when Emma told Scott that his inability to control his optical blast was a conscious decision, was that just Cassandra/Perfection screwing with him or was there actually some truth to it? and how did they explain his lack of control returning?

I've never given thoughts to it, and I only know that Scott puts a mental block on his own powers (does it mean that he has some latent psychic ability to pull that off?), though why would he consciously decides to not to control his powers? And if it were truth why Emma, Jean or Xavier never told him that? They were/are all in his head pretty often.
The problem of Scott's inability to control his optic blasts can be easily fixed with the kid who has the ability to heal (I forget his name) people's injuries (and if the writers stick to how every mutant's power works, Scott should have regained his control over his powers in Whedon's run when Danger 'killed' him and healed by the kid), but Marvel's decision is just like that, the visor stays, the fact that Cyclops and Rogue can't control their powers stays, and PF stays as well.

Don't forget he couldn't use them during Morrison's Weapon X arc due to being an emotional wreck.

My best guess is he could control them temporarily, but the brain damage would prevail in the end.

While Fantomex & Wolvie were getting their a$$es kicked, Cyke couldn't use his powers, so he went against the baddie with a sledgehammer.

He of course got the living s**t beaten out of him. Wolvie commented on how he was bleeding from the ears, lol. :woot:

In X-Factore 39 sinister said that scott could control his powers;but never learned.

Scott has lost his powers several times anyway. I don't think he had it around Uncanny #150 and he didn't have it for much of X-tinction Agenda.

Sledgehammer saves the day when even adamantium claws can't. :woot:
Don't piss off de-powered Cyke.

Did Sninster mean Scott never learned to control his powers because he didn't want to, or because of the brain damage so he couldn't learn it like other mutants do? If it's the latter, I've always wondered why Sinister didn't do anything about it, that guy can bring dead people back alive and all other crazy things but he can't fix a problem as small as brain damage?
