Ben Reilly appears in the new Sensational Spidey 40 I believe. Full page of art dedicated to people who have died in Peter's Life (most are not shown how they actually died, Norman is shown impaled in the same senario as he was in the first film, against a brick wall, not as he was in the comics.) Anyway, I'm 99% sure we see Ben in his own Spider Costume lying on the ground with his head facing the reader. We all know he didn't die in that costume, but whatever, cool to see Spider-Ben in all his glory.

I'm pretty sure it's Jean DeWolff, Harry Osborn, Ben Reilly, Captain Stacy and Kraven the Hunter in that montage.

I noticed that scenes seemed out of place (Peter finding out about Uncle Ben from May and not the cop, the burglar's attire, Ben in costume, Peter *sorta* mourning the "death" of Norman even though the guy came back over a decade ago now), but all can be overlooked for a great issue.

Awwww man!!! Does anyone have scans? Even if it's inaccurate, it's a MUST SEE!!!!

I've been reading this Thread for some time now, and this is the right time to start posting here :cwink:

It's good to see Ben Reilly get some acknowledgment in Marvel continuity, so even if it's not 100% correct I was glad they had him in this book.

And I'm pretty sure it's Harry, not Norman Osborn on this page.
It's Jean DeWolff, Harry Osborn, Captain Stacy, Ben Reilly and Kraven the Hunter.
Here's the page:

didn't ben have his spidey costume technically underneath his other garments?

I think it was meant to be more along the lines of artistic license, a reflection of what's in Peter's mind, than authenticity. I mean, if we saw Ben as he was out of context, would we know it's Ben by a different artist? Maybe yes, maybe no. See how much trouble people've had with Gobby there? At least the costume clarifies who it is.

An' welcome, Ultra!

Yeah, that is one hell of a great shot. He looks so sad.

Thank you Ultra Magnus!!! You are a HERO! And welcome to the boards!

I agree with Wolvy in that I also think that the "inaccuracies" are just the way Peter symbolizes the events. Neither Harry or Ben died in their costumes...

The carrot doth dangle, while the hounds snap at the bait...:cwink:

Hounds hate carrots. We're more like horses. Or Ben Reilly is more like a small animal or carcass. Anyways, you're reminding me of a Pink Floyd song called "Time"

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

:csad:

That Ben pose IS sad...

just noticed ben reilly spiderman figure is in 40 year old virgin!!! dunno if its been mentioned before

Good to see Pete still remembers his brother. (Actually there's been more Ben references lately then there's been in a long time)

Does anyone think Ben will be mentioned/still be in continuity post-Brand New Day?

I hope so...if he's somehow officially removed from continuity post-Brand New Day then i'll stop reading Spider-Man all together...

i never noticed it but i did read that in either the ben reilly wikipedia article or the scarlet spider wikipedia article (they are actually two separate articles)...

Here's a challenge and I dare anyone to take me up on it.... ;-)

A list of all the postmortem references Ben has had in the Spider-Books since 'Revelations.'

Anything ranging from a fleeting mention to a caption (like the latest Sensational) to Peter giving him a homage like taking up his ID in Friendly. The big and the small. It doesn't have to be Pete doing the referencing either. Jimmy-6, Mary Jane, Norman Osborn and others have all brought him up I believe. Clone jokes or references to that "clone thing" don't count. They have to be about Ben.

If we all bring our own recollections to the table we can probably come up with a pretty solid list.

Here's what I can remember....

Lots of references in Dezago's Sensational. There was that 2-parter DK back-up story and the Technomancers storyline which were both VERY HEAVY on Ben references with it even playing in to the story.

Some references in DeMatties' Spec (#250 when Pete is lashing out at Norman and #254 I think when Peter is in Jonas Harrow's torture device and sees a hallucination of him) and Defalco's ASM had a couple with Pete remembering him when he wears a green hoody during Identity Crisis.

Post-relaunch it gets harder...

The captions with Ben's death and baby May's "death" are shown in Jenkins Webspinner's arc with Chameleon when Peter is dreaming.

2 references in Mark Millar's MK:Spider-Man run. (#7 and 9 I think)

Ben is seen in flashback, but not mentioned, in ASM#25 during the Green Goblin's 'Heir' storyline.

House of M, like spidey-dude mentioned.

Peter using the Ben Reilly alias in Friendly and ofcourse the most recent panel in Sensational.

I'm a Ben fanatic, but that's all that's coming to me right now. But I know there's tons more.
