They cost about $130 a peice and took maybe 3-4 months to produce each one. Good luck asking him to make you one. He told me that these were pretty hard to make in the first place and he would rather not do anything like this again.

well your a very lucky man then

can you post some more???

id love to see some romita style customs - lost years particularly

I can take some pics of the figures that I have for sure (though I sent the ben reilly spidey back to him because its in the process of being repaired) but I dont own any romita "Lost Years" era customs. In fact I've searched high and low for spider-man/clone saga customs and I dont think any exist to be honest.

i have never seen any customs in the style of JR jr but think they could look very cool

Nope. The pinky is coming forward, not bent back.

It's not coming forward. Further:

Doesn't really mean much. Doesn't change the established position of the trigger or the fact that he doesn't do it that way NOW.

Jeez... how many pages are you guys going to spend arguing about whether or not Scarlet Spider tapped a trigger on his palm or flicked his wrist? :wow:

Here's the REAL truth: bad continuity. Some artists drew him flicking his wrist. Some artists drew him tapping a trigger-palm. There was obviously no office-wide "this is how Scarlet Spider shoots his webs" memo. Move on.

I did enjoy that. But nothing at Marvel is like it used to be; good or bad.

I liked when each Spider-title would focus on a different aspect of Spidey. Spectacular was Peter Parker & friends, Web was the Daily Bugle, Amazing was the superhero stuff, and adjectiveless was a mixture.

In one of two ways I'd continue the Clone Saga, I'd've had the seven books split up between two Spideys. Ben would get Web and Sensational, Peter would get Amazing and Peter Parker, they'd team-up in the re-titled Spectacular Spider-MEN, then alternate in Team-Up and Unlimited.

I remember reading a Marvel preview book three months before 'Revelations' and being so pumped by the preview for Revelations and the tease that only one Spider-Man would come out alive. It was all I looked forward to. It kept me up at nights, pondering all the different outcomes of the story and wondering who the mastermind was (though I thought Gaunt would be Harry, I nailed the mastermind as Norman).

Like most things, the hype you build up while you're waiting was much better than the actual end-product. I remember first being disappointed by the revelation of the Robot-Master (???!?) as Gaunt... then the terrible art of Steve Skroce in Amazing... and finally the letdown of not seeing the two Spider-Man in costume together. Worst of all, it was awful seeing Ben get impaled, fall off a skyscraper and disintegrate into quaker oats. And then when the following Spectacular issue came out there was only one fleeting mention of Ben Reilly so that was kinda sweeping the dust under the rug (pun intended).

But still that was a fun time for me as a comic collector, partly due to the carefree joy of being 13. I don't think it would have been as fun at the jaded, cynical age I am now.

Gaunt WAS supposed to be the Mastermind and it WAS supposed to be Harry, Look at how the hood covers his hiar, it's that same as Harry's hair...

Yeah, I read that in 'Life of Reilly' years later, but I didn't know that in 1996 when the issue came out. Robot-Master... what a cop-out. :whatever:

Gaunt was a cool (and ruthless) villain. It's a shame he had to go back to being Robot-Master after 'Revelations', because all that mystery was sucked out of the character and he just ended up being pathetic Mendell Stromm. Last I saw he was nothing but a head attached to wires whining about wanting to die.

so today it was announced that Axel Alonso has replaced Joe Quesada as Marvels Editor In Chief............ has he said anything about ben reilly before???????

Has anyone seen this yet?

It seems after the 5 Clone Saga Epic books, they're continuing to re-releasing the next stories under a new name, Spider-Man: The Complete Ben Reilly Epic Book 1. Based on the description of the previous book and this one, my guess is this volume is collecting all the scarlet spider titles, before he becomes the new Spider-Man.
