I love the power Osborn is getting, yeah its very smiliar to Luthor, but there is no way Marvel would make Osborn president, but him having this type of power, and being looked as a hero from SI, and now having his own team of Avengers, its amazing how a Spidey villain has progressed, specially Osborn, since his character is perfect for all these things.

Even though, they probably wont play Spidey into a big part in any of it.

I'm not going to turn my nose up at the idea just yet, I just think this may be a tricky thing to pull off. Marvel shouldnt forget that Norman Osborn is first and foremost a Spider-Man villain. Spider-Man has been his fixation for years.

That said, how many times can Gobby come up with a plan to ruin Spidey's day before the formula gets old? Norman has always wanted power and being the new head of SHEILD would certainly give him that but he is out of Spider-Man's life plenty now as it is. I just worry that he will change into an entirely different character from what we know and love.

Right.

I'm reserving judgment. Again, hopefully they won't go that route. I don't want the Green Kingpin or the Green Luthor. I want the Norman Osborn I've loved all these years.

We still dont know exactly what Norman is up to, but he is popping up in an awful lot of upcoming books and they all seem to go along with the idea that he is getting into government.

You should've been on the boards back in early '02, when they were bombarded with manips.

"Does the Green Goblin look cute to you? DOes he make you want to smile?"
Translation: This costume is goofy-looking. On purpose.

Granted thats true, but couldnt we do better than this?

Its not terrible, but not what I hoped for either. I keep hoping Gobby would be, you know, scary.

Not to say that this is terrifying, but its more along the lines of what I hoped for.

Given all the sketches & prototypes, I think we got the best they could offer.

Tbh, I thought the suit worked, but that's just me.

That is a cheap and bad example. With a few tweaks the costume could work in my opinion. Look at Spider-Man's movie suit for example.

Spidey's suit doesn't have:
A prosthetic mask
An elf hat
Pixie boots
And it was designed by a teenager trying to come up with something theatrical, not a military contractor trying to sell something to the government. Even this way:

It still isn't plausible on film.
Moving right along:
