Nice picture, coloring and ink can make a huge difference. Must've been hell to draw all of those webs...

Anyway, I never got to finish my point (I had to leave). Anyway, the suit (the purple clothing) would look more like it came from the middle ages (think Midieval) maybe with a tunic . Stitched together like Batman Returns' Catwoman. As for the skin it would be like that pattern on Spiderman's suit (not the webs) . When it comes to the face it would be nothing too garish. You'd be suprised what people can make things look like in hollywood. Being insane, I would think Gobby would be theatrical as well... The perversion of good into evil (like Joker=clown) can be VERY scary...plus...I kinda like the elf hat...

This looks crappy for now as it is just a draft (hence it being in pencil). It may not be the Green Goblin...but this guy basically is a wannabe Green Goblin.

His arms are a little small and I couldn't draw hands to save my life...I'll deal with it...Any other suggestions?

Oh! Oh! Do each of the Goblins! Green, Hob, Demo, Phil Urich, Gathering of Five.

Heh, well I meant suggestions for this drawing...but okay then. I'm only familiar with the first three. So ya'll are going to have to fill me in. I tried to emulate the way Spectacular Spiderman's Green Goblin looked without Hobby looking to much like his inspiration (I used the pumpkin belt buckle as the cape holder thingie)...plus I tried to do it in a similar style to Bruce Timm (his TNBA art). So it would be an animated, streamlined, styled Hobby...that I am doing...

Here we go again, I only have Microsoft Paint, and tried to photoshop it...but alas, my skills are not so great.

Not to say that this is terrifying, but its more along the lines of what I hoped for.

Totally agree. For those of you who have been here long enough remember when people wouldn't shut up about Spider-Mans' suit not working on film either. Remember the Alex Ross attempt at making something more movie friendly? Just because the director of the movie doesn't have a big enough imagination, or isn't creative enough doesn't mean someone else couldn't do it well. Singer for example wasn't creative enough to bring one X-Men costume to film. Raimi at least got Spidey right. The Goblin could be done, at least closer to the comics. Just because you guys aren't creative enough to figure out how to make it work doesn't mean everyone isn't as well.

And I love this picture up top, it would have looked great on film.

While I agree that the Alex Ross design was horrendous, and that Spidey looks MUCH better in a variation of his red & blues (I was afraid they were gonna put him in leather myself) I don't agree that the X-Men or GG could translate to film. What you can draw & what you can put on a real live human being are 2 different things. Or would you really want to see Ian McKellan in this?

The comic fan in us wants to believe that every character's iconic look can be brought to film with no problems. In many cases, it just isn't so. THe artists can let their imaginations run wild simply because nobody has to actually put this stuff on. Add to this the fact that in comics, costumes are rather commonplace. Something prompts you to put it on, you just do it. In movies they always have to be justified. Scarecrow's mask is primarily to protect him from the gas. The X-Men wear a team uniform. (WHICH MAKES PERFECT SENSE!) The Goblin's suit was based off a military prototype. How would you justify, then, him adding a purple hat & pixie boots? You can't. Many superhero & supervillain costumes are garish, over the top, & impractical. And that's great-on paper. But don't expect it to always be that way when they're asked to dress up a real, live person. We are a brood that tends to be fastidious & inflexible, & often we ruin our own enjoyment when our beloved characters are brought to film. Now with very few exceptions, I am quite happy with the looks that superheroes have had onscreen. I understand the need to modify, adapt & overhaul. And I have absolutely no complaints where Norman's onscreen look is concerned.
Harry, on the other hand-I can understand why they went that route, but I would've done something different there.

^^ Tbh, I really have to agree, Chris. What works in comics doesn't always work well on film is what I always say.

As I said, the costume isnt scary but the atmosphere, the pose make it more intimidating. Who can say the same about the movie costume's depiction? Maybe its not so much the costume as the way it is presented.

Indeed. You take one look and know that Norman is out for blood. He isnt f-ing around. Its good to see him like that.

"You didnt have a mother! A pig coughed and you fell out!"

An awesome pic, yes-but it just shows that the right artist can make just about any costume look awesome.

Absolutely. I hate to bring up the much reviled Sins Past, but I thought Deodato did a great job with the Gray Goblin's look. It was the classic Green costume but it was one of the best renderings I've ever seen. It somehow seemed very John Romita, Sr. to me.

What color was the sister supposed to wear? I don't remember.

Right-they were supposed to be acting on the assumption that their dear old dad was dead, right?
I honestly hope that the misguided "Brand New Day" at least had the side benefit of wiping that story out.

Nope, Sins Past is still part of continuity. JMS wanted to retcon it during OMD but Quesada voted the idea down. Norm even mentioned getting Gwen pregnant in Thunderbolts (the issue in which the above artwork was featured, I think).

I dunno, if Joe Q didnt want the twins erased from existence, does that mean he has plans for them?
