They need to make a phenomenal Spidey game with Green Goblin as the main villain. Just my two cents, but as Spidey's greatest villain, you'd think we have as many GG-related videos than we do of Venom-related video games.

Apart from the movie game, GG hasn't tossed a pumpkin bomb in a video game since the 90's arcade game-which I'll bet NONE of you remember.

Was that fight not on a building under construction? Was it the same game where you fought Scorpion, then Venom then a GIANT Venom?

If so I loved that game!

Was it the Spider-Man & X-men Arcade game? I played it on the SNES. That's what I remember, but GG was also in the Atari 2600 game, but I've never played it.

LOL this commercial rocks so much a**...

EDIT: Hurm... Looks like I forgot which Goblin was in the Spidey-X-Men Arcade game. It was actually Hobgoblin not GG.

GG was in the game based off of SMTAS, too. He was just in the DS version of SM:WoS from what I heard.

I stand corrected.

What was the name of it?

Spider-Man. And ou fight pretty much everybody. Both Goblins, Electro, OCk, Sandman, Kingpin, & finally Doom. And when you beat him the first time, he turns out to be a Doombot. Then when you beat the real one, he says something about his destiny being his & his alone to decide. Then he RECHARGES HIS HEALTH & the fight starts over.
Oh-it has nothing to do w/any X-Men, although Namor, Hawkeye & Black Cat are available as playable characters. The only thing I hated was that special attacks-webbing, bio-electricity, cat's claw, arrows-took away health.

Totally. We always get games with villains like Rhino, Shocker, Scorpion and Vulture but no Gobby?! Nothing against those other bad guys, but how can they keep showing up but there is no pumpkin bomb in sight?

Ihave never heard of any such game.

There's some gameplay up on YT that shows all the boss fights; GG included.

Haven't heard anything about this, either.

I've seen some DS gameplay on YT that had GG being summoned. He swooped down on his glider and dropped some pumpkin bombs and flew off. Something like that.

Okay. It's still been a good 15 years since we saw a pumpkin bomb in any game. Apart from the movie games, we only seem to get this version.

And a couple of times, this one.

But never this one.

Its just not right. Is it the costume? Is that what the game creators are worried about? Or does Venom just appeal to the caffeine addicted video game addict? :o

History would indicate that it's more the latter.

I'm too lazy to look for pics of the others, but you got the aforementioned arcade game, the first PS1 game, Marvel Nemesis & I'm sure there are others.

Yeah, I like Venom and all; but damn is he overrated. :csad: If he were just your standard buffoon in tights I doubt he'd be as well received as he still is.

Here are my problems with Venom.
1-he is overrated, overhyped & overexposed. I was into him once, too. But we see him too damn often.
2-his story is actually pretty damn thin. What kind of reporter doesn't check his information? And you devote your life to destroying someone who inadvertantly debunked your story? And then, if you hate somebody, why model yourself in their image? I kind of bought it in the movie b/c he seemed to want to pervert everything Spider-Man stands for. But in the comics, Venom views himself as the good guy. Which is also confusing, as he can choose to ignore the fact that Spidey saves innocent lives, while he himself has murdered innocents. He's a constant self-contradiction, & Spidey's got far more interesting baddies.
3-Spidey always runs from him. Spider-Man has faced FAR more powerful opponents than Venom & never once backed down.

4-I fail to see what makes him so cool. He knows everything about Spidey & can come after him through his loved ones? SO CAN THE GOBLIN. He can mimic his powers? So can Mysterio. He can sneak up on him? So can Mysterio. He can counter everything Spidey doesn? So can Kraven. It's all been done before. And the whole warped mirror image of the hero angle? We've seen that before, too.

I'm just saying, he's not deserving of all the hype he gets. His fans complain about his lack of screen time in Spider-Man 3. But I truly don't see any other way it could've been done. Other than, of course, devoting the entire 4th movie to him, which I don't think he could have really carried. I think about the 2 cartoon series in which he's appeared. It took 2 episodes to build him up, & then he came up short of delivering anything truly exciting. THe preludes were far better than his actual introduction. Why? Because he lacks substance. He lacks motivation. For Spidey to be stalked & haunted by someone who's been in his life since the beginning of his career is FAR more entertaining than seeing a Johnny-come-lately do it. Green Goblin is a major player who has stood the test of time. And despite having had several imitators, he still stands out among the rest.

I usually get flamed for pointing these things out. And you may want to re-read the last paragraph since I edited it.

Venom is fanboys' *********ory* material. Just like Gambit.

*I think I just made up a word

Wow. THat's harsh.
I was never big on Gambit either. His costume's a joke & the card thing got old quickly.
Shifting gears again, what do y'all think of the Phil Urich costume?

Venom is my favorite Villian, but yeah, he can be used too much.

Love it. Phil Urich was the reason I became a Goblin fan. His too short series will always be a favorite of mine. We need a Phil costume vs Gathering Of Five costume debate. Two similar styles.
specspider-man263.jpg

The only difference I can see is the skullcap style on the GoF version and a flattened shoulder. The two things coming out of Phil's shoulders are gone in Norman's costume.

Phil has visible metal & (I think) red lenses. I loved his costume overall. And his weapons and his glider.
