Official Green Lantern Casting and Discussion Thread part 2

Sinestro - Viggo Mortensen
Carol - Rachel McAdams
Hector - Karl Urban

Yeah, Karl Urban is awesome.

My second choices:

Sinestro - Jason Isaacs
Carol - Michelle Monaghan
Hector - Peter Saarsgard

Shame the old thread got closed :(, anyways...

Green Lantern: RR
Tom Kalmaku: Adam Beach
Carol Ferris:Rachel McAdams
Sinestro: Ken Watanabe
John Stewart: Roger Cross
Atrocitus: Lawrence Makaore
Hammond: Paul Giamatti

yea darn those new rules on thread length and all that. But in other news hopefully we will have our cast soon enough and before this one gets crazy long.

For the love of Norse Gods, Idris Elba just got cast in Thor. Finally, he can use his native British accent for a role! (Assuming that Norse Gods will sound British, which is more than likely)

'Thor' has already taken Aquaman (Chris Hemsworth) and Wonder Woman (Jaimie Alexander). Now they've got John Stewart.

Damn you Marvel. :cmad:

Sorry to bring up the dreaded Justice League movie, but can you imagine if those 3 were cast in it. I think a lot of us would've been much more excited about it. I always thought the casting was the biggest problem with that movie. I didn't mind the rest at all.

i just didn't like the casting process of Justice League.

From what I've read, the casting director just took random actors (some from Friday Night Lights) and have them try out for multiple roles. Then the casting director would pick and choose. So if one guy didn't get Superman, he could get The Flash.

I just think that process is so jarring and thoughtless.

Not all of them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was specifically brought in for Wonder Woman.

yeah, you got her and I think Common. maybe Adam Brody.

But the rest were interchangeable.

Just imagine:

Chris Hemsworth - Aquaman
Jaimie Alexander - WW
Idris Elba - John Stewart
Scott Porter - Wally
Jon Hamm - Batman
Henry Cavill - Superman

:woot:

i still don't understand why Henry Cavill can't catch a break. I'm hoping that his next leading role, Dawn of War (formally War of Gods) will make execs see that he's legit.

I was hoping he would be Hal, actually.

I still think he's the best choice for Superman. Have so for years. :yay:

I just had an even better idea (at least I think I did :woot:)

Henry Cavill - Superman
MEW - Lois

If Henry doesn't get considered for Superman, I would lose my mind.

MEW as Lois would be wonderful, actually.

Too bad that the lawsuit going on is making it tough to make a Superman movie now...

What has Cavill been close to getting?

James Bond
Superman
Batman
Green Lantern

Are there anymore?

I really can't understand why he isn't getting roles like these. He's an amazing actor.

with James Bond, he can still get. I mean, he's like my age so he has a chance later down the line.

The rest, I don't know. I don't know if the directors or studios 'don't get him' or what, but I think we're coming to an era in Hollywood where the star may be fading away. (Not to say that guys like Depp or Pitt mean anything. just saying that the Hollywood system has relied too much on the star and not on the projects.)

With that in mind, this means lesser known actors may get to headline mainstream movies. So guys like Cavill will get his chance. afterall, we need some new fresh faces now. No, I'm not talking about the male Gretchen Mol, Sam Worthington!

Hey. I like Worthington. He should've been the new Mad Max.

There's gonna be some new stars in the next couple of years.

Chris Hemsworth - Thor, Red Dawn

Taylot Kitsch - John Carter of Mars

I like both of them (and Cavill). Hopefully all three do well.
