Josh Duhamel is a "name"?

FWIW, I think WB probably has already selected someone. I can't see an announcement this week, though, not with MLK day, the inaugaration, and Oscar nominations coming out this week. Maybe next week.

Thor is probably on a similar schedule.

Ackles is definitely not under consideration for this.

They want a Hollywood up and comer with a good film resume; not someone who film resume consists of "My Bloody Valentine 3D"

I would have preferred Harnett, unfortunately he's not being considered. Neither is Duhamel.

The only legit names I've heard so far are Gosling (turned it down), Affleck (turned it down), Worthington and Caviezel.

There's probably alot more we don't know about; hopefully they cast Hal right.

Caviezel is too old.

Ackles should be under consideration, he can nail this role. I wasn't fond of the idea until after I read the script.

No one ever said Ackles was under consideration, so i don't know where you keep getting that, some of us just feel he'd be good, and this is a casting thread after all which people use to suggest actors they'd like to see.

Caviezel might be Martin, but I'll guarantee he won't be Hal.

I like Caviezel...But, he is too old to play Hal Jordan. Especially, if they want sequels.

Tell that to RDJ.

Anyway Lobo, there are so many actors that could play Hal but what's the point of bringing up names that have zero chance of being on WB's radar?

At this point, we should focus on the type of actors they want.

Caviezel is just downright a boring actor. Im not sure why everyone keeps bringing up for SUperman and Green Lantern.

For fun, which is how I view casting threads, and just maybe To get them on the radar? 99.9% of the actors mentioned for Superman have no chance either

what radar?? I highly doubt anyone with any clout at any studio seriously considers anything posted on here....if they even look....

They look. Avi Arad and some others have mentioned these boards in interviews, and before Ghost Rider, MSJ even posted.

Or they have interns or PA's looking for them....They're probably telling their underlings to see what the "word" on things is and then report back to them....

And if they report back that there's alarge fan support for some actor for a role, there you go.

To be fair....no CBF has ever cast a lead that 100 or even 90 percent of the fanbase was happy with....

When has there been a candidate 90 to 100% of the fans wanted that wasn't hired? I can't think of anyone.

I disagree with that.

I remember Patrick Stewart, Aaron Eckhart, and Christian Bale getting name dropped like crazy before they were cast.

Id say Patrick Stewart is the exception to the rule.....a good amount of people didn't even know who Aaron Eckhart was when he got cast (Thank You for Smoking fixed that)

Yeah, I remember a lot of "Who?" when Eckhart was cast as well.

Obviously before the internet, but Jack Nicholson was certainly looked upon favorably when cast. Devito too. And I don't recall any complaints about Pfeiffer, except for those objecting to her blond hair.

Josh Brolin seems to be very well received as a potential Jonah Hex.

Christian Bale had to be close. But you're right fans will NEVER be 100% with the actors chosen.

I loved that movie.

yea if production is indeed starting up within the next 2-3 months they probably do have a cast signed and training and costume fitting now.

I Liked the Uniforme. It's a interesting concept. Cinematographic, but still comic-book accurate. I would't be opposed to see it in a movie.

But those who didn't liked don't need to worry. Aarom Simms ("The Day Earth Stood Still", "The Incredible Hulk") is designing the costumes and the alien creatures looks.
aaron sims is working on this project?
hhhhhhhhhooooooooooooo i am a huge fan.
