Absolutely no to Hartnett. His face look weird and he doesn't have the swagger of Hal Jordan, somethings just can't be acted. He's never shown me any acting I deemed "Good" in anything he's done.

I'm totally not pimping him or anything, but this dude Scott Porter said that he wants badly to play Hal Jordan. ( I read this in my men's health Mag) I watch him on FNL sometimes. I think he's cool, not my first choice (Nathan Fillion) but just saying he WANTS to do it.

He's 29 I believe around the age they want for the film.

So, what are you guys thoughts on this dude? Seems like everybody and their father wants to be Green Lantern.
I second that! Or third, whatever. Either GL or Captain America, Porter just has a great all-american superhero look to him, and he can really act. He's my no.1!

porter would still make a great barry allen flash, IMO.

he's like my number one choice for the part right now. :)

I'm really skeptical about some of these choices. It's like people are just casting visually, based on who they feel looks exactly like the Hal Jordan from the comics, with barely a glance at their actual acting credentials. I'd much rather we got an actor talented enough to really nail Jordan AS A CHARACTER, and make him utterly credible and compelling. Even if he doesn't look exactly the way Hal is typically drawn.

I think George Eads from CSI looks exactly like what Hal Jordon should look like.
JOrdon was a pilot, and they tend to be on the smaller side of average to fit into fighter jet cockpits. Eads is listed as 5'11", which means he is 5' 9" or 5' 10", but just google his name, and he is actually pretty ripped without being too big.
Now, I am not asking for Eads to have the part, as I don't think he could act like he was in pain if you cut his arm off, but I think he looks the part exactly

What about Josh Hartnett as GL?

I was just thinking about Josh Hartnett as a possible Hal candidate the other day and I would have no problem with him being cast. He is a good actor, not a great one, but he has done some roles to show his versatility. He is about 30 now and the right age to play Hal in the film IMO. He has the looks, acting chops and enough name recognition to get some buzz going on the film. All he has to really do is bulk up a bit and tone up and I think he would be a solid choice. I think he would play the brave, hot shot, scarred pilot side of Hal very well. Then when Hal becomes more humble and responsible after the ring finds him, I think Hartnett would be able to do that important transition.

If they ever do a Flash show and depending on who they use for Flash (Wally or Barry). Then they should get John Wesley Shipp to portray either Barry or Jay Garrick. Shipp played the Flash on the 1990 series. :)

You all have to be kidding. Josh Hartnett is a terrible choice for Hal Jordan.

Shipp is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too old for Barry now. Scott Porter or Ryan Gosling would be great as Barry, IMO. Maybe Paul Walker.

Hartnett would be a good choice. Maybe he doesn't look exactly like Hal Jordan, but he definitely has the acting chops and screen presence suitable to the role.

I know he is old. Met him at a convention. But, if they go with Wally. Then Shipp would be good as the older Barry or preferably Jay.

He is better than Scott Porter and the rest of the Friday Night Lights cast (lousy show that was) and the other two dozen or so waiters from Sunset Ave that have been suggested so far.

I met Nathan Fillion. He would make a great Hal Jordan. If you would have made the movie 20 years ago. Then Dennis Quaid would have been your man. :D

And he was a poor choice back then. He is more of a superman, or a batman type.

WTF??!!! JWS simply owned as Barry.

JD, any more of that and you'll join Al and his dog in the Alleyway. ;)

He played the character well but he was to musclebound and bulky, and he had dark features (brown eyes, black hair).

He would have been a perfect Batman though!

I'm with you on the hair but as for JWS's build - he wasn't too musclebound and bulky; He just had a really decent, athletic build. It was the suit that made him looked bulky.

As faithful as it was, they definately got it wrong in that respect.

The bulky was due to the suit. Which was based on the Batman suite from the Burton Batman films.

And how I have know idea....but it's a typical CW type of show.

So, you don't like it and, obviously, don't watch it. Why do you even care if it's on or not? That goes for every tv show, of course. I'll never understand people like that.

Yeah Gabe would be best as the Barry Allen Flash. He has a sexy Aussie wife, Jacinda Barrett. It would be cool to see her in a superhero movie. I can't get enough of her....
