This from the guy with an Adam West avvy?

:thing: :doom: :thing:
indeed, because i enjoy the ...we'll call it zazz, of the 60's batman as well as that of BnR as satire.

as for gosling, not very familiar with him but i'd be willing to give him a shot. i wish they were doing kyle instead of hal though. hal, as well as jon, has always seemed a bit 2 dimensional to me

Guys quit the bickering and take this discussion to a more appropriate thread. Keep it up in here and i will smack you with infractions.

Now Back to Green Lantern

To me, Gosling is an inspired choice. He's not quite as out of left field as Ledger was for The Joker though IMO. Gosling's face has some Hal-ish qualities, and he is easily one of the best actors of his age range. with the script having a 27 year old Hal, I can think of no one better suited. Sure, he needs to work out a bit but he'll own it and bring Green Lantern to a wider audience.

Realistically, he just needs to look like a test pilot would. Whatever that is.

A quick one. I'm not going to bother with the mask right now.

Not crazy about Gosling's normal face expression for Hal...

But he is a very good actor (or so everyone says, and I'm sure he is) so if he's cast, I'm OK with it...

I'm still not digging the hair. Something along the lines of his hairstyle for The Notebook (minus the beard)... Hal is too cool to slick back or part his hair.

I thought his hair is pretty much always parted in the comics.

Well its not like he has been casted yet, this is just who they want. But don't you think they're going to make an announcement that the movie is actually happening first. It shows that they want an actor, which is a good for us because it shows that WB may have seen the light, but he might not even want to take the role.

Or maybe it's the way it's parted. Either way, I need to double-check my copy of Green Lantern: Rebirth again.

And I think people are getting too quick to decide that LR is confirming that Gosling is Hal. I wouldn't be surprised when Warners makes an announcement regarding casting and that another actor had been cast as Hal instead of Gosling.

Granted, LR was correct on the Ledger-Joker news but it's still pretty early.

Eh? Which people are assuming anything is confirmed? I haven't seen anyone doing that.

It's just since LR was first to break the "Ledger is Joker for TDK" news in March 2006, and now it seems a lot of people assume something similar for the "Gosling as Hal" bit.

Hmm, they could've done better, but they also could've done worse. I'm not going to assume this is concrete yet, though, so i'm gonna hold out hope for Nathan Fillion.

Fillion was probably never looked at or thought of by the wb folks since they want hal late 20s so they can bank a few films on a young actor.

For Hal Jordan?

Are you serious?

yeah i am.

everyone thought Heath Ledger was a bad choice for joker when they first heard he was playing it, but i had no doubts on him and i have no doubts on Gossling being GL, but i would rather prefer him as GA.

They were also the first to confirm Routh as Superman, as well as a few other scoops. People know they have a good track record, and they never said Gosling would be GL just that he was top choice, and that alone has people excited.

Remember, the offical announcement of the release date for "The Dark Knight", along with the announcement that the title would BE "The Dark Knight", came with the announcement of Heath Ledger as The Joker. So perhaps they're wanting to go a similar direction for the announcement of "Green Lantern". Hold a press conference with Berlanti, Green, Guggenheim and (if he accepts) Gosling.

...THAT...was awesome. :woot: I swear, this guy gets bigger every time I see him. If not Hal then he should be playing A superhero of some kind. I'd even settle for Jay Garrick with a dye job. Just make him a superhero.
Watch Dr. Horrible's Online singalong blog.

I did actually. I plan on getting it on itunes also. I'm convinced Fillion can do no wrong right now.

"It's curtains for you Dr. Horrible! Lacy, gently wafting curtains!"
