yea he does seem like a decent actor. Though i know nothing on the hammond character so i couldnt judge it right.

In the comics Hammond is a good deal older, so if they're casting in this age range, whoever they get is likely to be markedly different from the comics incarnation. The other key thing to note is that although the Hector Hammond we know and love in the comics looks like this:

HectorHammond1.png

He won't really be like this at all for most of the movie, which is about his origins and how he gets his psychic/telepathic powers. So the Hector Hammond of the film will likely be a distinctly different entity from the Hector Hammond of the comics.

well did the leaked first draft script state age range for hammond. because i only read a few pages myself and only remember hal's age range. And we dont how they are going to cast for other roles besides likely sticking to someone close in age for carol to hal.

The script said late 30s for Hammond. Plus, he has a dad in his 60s in the script too.

Just throwing a name out there, but what about Peter Sarsgaard as Hammond?

Another solid supporting actor. I've seen him suggested for a few comic book roles, but he could make for a pretty good Hammond, I feel.

I think Hammond's age will be "corrected" to mid-40s. After all, we've read the first draft. They turned in the third draft, and they might rewrite it during the shooting. It's also likely that they added some elements of Geoff John's "Secret Origins". Something that made me happy was a Marc Guggehein statement saying the third draft is "Darker" (I hope it's not TDK "darker"), so, some of the jokes i didn't liked (At least on paper) might be out. I don't know, i don't really like reading scripts (Spoilers, maybe).

Everything i know is that is going to rock.

Agreed. The first script was great in itself, and if they've actually refined on that with redrafts, I think the movie's going to be a whole lot of fun.

Yea everything we have been hearing for gl sounds pretty great and i really hope it happens and its a good film.

I've been saying Michele Monaghan

I suggested Michelle Monaghan a while back. But in light of recent developments, I can't stand by that choice. She's in her mid 30s. Hal, if they go by the script, will be in his late 20s, early 30s acting late 20s at a push. Not to sound sexist, but it's not very "Hollywood" to have the female love interest be several years older than the male lead. I think they'll go for someone younger for Carol.

However, if they were to cast Michelle Monaghan as Catwoman, I would be pretty happy with that.

In most interactions between Hal and Carol, even in New Frontier...Carol came across as being a bit older and a lot more mature than Hal....but I see your point Soze

I like Monaghan, but I have a different Michelle in mind for the role at the moment, Michelle Ryan.

Hey guys just throwing another young actor out there who I think whould make a good Hal Jordan Matt Long.

yea its probably going to be close in age to who ever is playing hal. There is tons of very talented young 20s-early 30s actresses out there so i dont think it will be any problem.

Absolutely not! Over here in the UK she got her big break by appearing in an ATROCIOUS soap opera called Eastenders were she played one of the whiniest, anoying characters ever put on film... A lot of people over here still think of her as that character... Dont think she'll ever shake that one off.

Oh yes! As a Brit myself, I laughed out loud when I heard Zoe Slater had been cast as The Bionic Woman. And I was then stunned when I realised the person telling me this was actually serious...

I remember when I went to SDCC in '07 and they showed the pilot for Bionic Woman....no one cared about Michelle Ryan, she doesn't connect with the audience for some reason...and I had never even heard of her prior to that
