I hope so. There isn't that much else I'm looking forward to in the immediate future, comicfilmwise.

The New York Comic Con is Feb. 6-8 there's a chance some announcements could be made there

So true so hopefully things are going well on gl camp with actors. And if they are still pulling for a spring start time i would think march/april is what they are shooting to start on so it has enough time to be a summer release in 2010. That so they are probably close to or maybe even have signed their lead by name so he can start working out and train.

Does anyone else would like to see certain names being correted in Green Lantern's latest draft? Like Jim's son being called Howard, Hal's mother being called Jane or Martin's codename being "Martini", like in the comics?

i dont know much on green lantern comic characters but since the writers are huge gl fans i wouldnt put it past them to through a bunch of comic homages here and there throughout the film like the rumor guy/clark kent cameos and probably others.

Just buy Green Lantern: Rebirth and Green Lantern: Revenge of the Green Lanterns. That'll give you the background on some of the lesser-known GLs, like Kilowog, Guy and Laira.

Do you think that Legion, one of the confirmed villains, works better as a android, like in the comics, or as a monster, like in the script?

he was a monster in the first draft script? i thought he was a robot. Though i only got to page 19/20 on the leak script just didnt have the time to read it when it first came out.

He is a monster in the first draft. He's described as being of the size of a whale (Capable of blocking the sun), having a shark's grin and multiple tentacles, like a Octopus. I'm not sure, but i think he even fires energetic blasts from his tentacles!

hmm maybe in the later drafts they changed him back to a robot. I would think a robot would be easier for them to pull off then some huge beast monster.

If they changed him back to a robot, then, they'd have to change several details of the movie, specially in the third act.

But if you're going to change Legion into a mythical, yellow space beast who thrives on fear, why not go the whole hog and just change the character into Parrallax? That's what clearly influenced these changes, anyway...

Legion is lesser known while Parallax pretty much was the apocalypse for the Corps
They decided to combine the two in what I consider a good move
They could have a backstory in the next film where it is revealed that Legion is in fact Parallax's weakened form. He's coming back, his essence has escaped the Lantern battery on Oa.

Also, it would be the first superhero film in which the hero DIES fighting...
John Stewart, a good friend of Hal's takes up his mantle while Hal's ring somehow finds it's way to a comic book artist named Kyle Rayner

I agree with Wesley. If they're turning Legion in to Parallax, why don't they call him Parallax? It would even be more comic-book accurate.
