Yeah. I can see how a test pilot right out of the Right Stuff who loves good beer and fast women would be boring. Especially one who has Alladin's Lamp and plays Super Cop to the Galaxy.

That description alone doesn't make him interesting. Superficially, Vin Diesel in XXX wasnt so different. Extreme sports advocate who liked fast cars and fast women and spoke his mind regardless of consequence. Doesnt really make him any more interesting than he actually is.

YEa, me too. And John and Guy and I prefer them as a team because they have a pretty combination of foil and comradery.

I just hate the whole Hal vs. Kyle thing. Both sides are so damn annoying, but I think its pretty stupid that everyone takes a backseat to Hal. At least keep John as the JLA resident Green Lantern and Hal with the solo. Everytime John shows up I feel like they have to make mention about why Hal didnt show up.

What about Mark Ruffalo for Hector Hammond.

I was shocked to discover Ruffalo was 40. 10 years younger, and he could have been an interesting candidate for Hal I tihnk.

Dead serious: I wish the film featured Tomar & Ch'p. I like all of them. But, Hal is the height of the character and really is, hands down, the only GL who should be used to launch the franchise.

What they do in sequels is fine by me.

Sweet! That's awesome to hear. Not sure why they'd pick the direction of choosing an animal species to cling to, when he always came across as something 'other'. He definitely is birdlike, but the fin on his head was usually aquatic in appearance. As long as he has those crazy eyes, I'm glad he's in it.

As for another casting suggestion, why not Joe Flanigan from Stargate: Atlantis? He won't get the role due to his age (43), but I don't know, I see some of that Hal cockiness in him.

Salaak is crancky and methodic. He has nothing to do with Tomar-Re, especially in the script.

they probably wanted to leave them all to be more mysterious and maybe get to do more with them in sequels. Plus thinking of budget and sfx they probably dont want to have so many of the strange gl aliens in the pic to blow sfx money.
